What you need to know

  • YouTube Luke Miani released renders of a new Mac Studio and external display earlier today.
  • Mark Gurman now says that the two devices are "ready to go."
  • Both could be announced at tomorrow's "Peek Performance" event.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is doubling up on an earlier rumor about a new Mac Studio.

Earlier today, YouTuber Luke Miani released a video that went over some renders about what the new Mac Studio and external display might look like. Miani also predicted that both devices would debut at tomorrow's "Peek Performance" event.

The unannounced product will get its debut during the March 8 event according to YouTuber Luke Miani and Apple Track, although the report might raise more questions than it answers. Maini says that the new display will be a 27-inch product that will also be cheaper than the current Pro Display XDR. That might suggest that this isn't the display recently reported to sport a 7K resolution. The new display looks set to be the perfect partner for the Mac Studio, another product that is now expected to be announced during the same event.

Now, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is adding to the hype, tweeting that the Mac Studio and monitor are "ready to go" and that they will be announced tomorrow. According to Gurman, the display will also have an A-Series chip within it, hinting at additional features that the display could have on its own.

"Am told the Mac Studio (smaller Mac Pro/more powerful Mac mini) plus the new monitor running iOS are "ready to go" - so I believe they should arrive tomorrow.Running iOS = has an A-Series chip powering it."

In addition to the Mac Studio and new display, tomorrow's event is also anticipated to feature a new iPad Air and iPhone SE as well as a new color for the iPhone 13.

We'll find out tomorrow when the event kicks off at 10:00 AM PDT!
