If you are really making a push to lose some of those pesky pounds, Fitbit has a whole menu of full of goals that will help you do that. You can set goals for water consumption and body fat percentage, plus you can actually set the amount of calories you want to eat in a day.

Your weight goal doesn't have to be losing weight. Fitbit will actually also adjust for gaining pounds or maintaining your current weight. By adjusting your goal weight you can slim down or bulk up as needed.

  1. Launch Fitbit from your Home screen.
  2. Tap on the Account tab. It's in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  3. Tap on the Nutrition & Body button.

  1. Tap on the Goal Weight button.
  2. Tap on the option you desire. The options are as follows:
    • Lose
    • Gain
    • Maintain
  3. Swipe left or right to set your goal weight.

  1. Tap on the Save button.
  2. Swipe left or right to set your body fat percentage goal.
  3. Tap on the Save button.

Say you just got a Fitbit but you started a new workout plan a couple weeks ago. You're still in the process of getting to your goal weight, but want to make sure your goals are accurate.

  3. Tap on the Nutrition & Body button.

  2. Swipe up or down to change the month, day, or year.

If you are trying to lose weight with Fitbit it will actually let you plan your daily caloric intake. There is two ways to do it, with Fitbit's help or manually.

  1. Launch Fitbit from your Home screen.
  2. Tap on the Account tab. It's in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  3. Tap on the Nutrition & Body button.
  4. Tap on the Food button.

  1. Tap on the Help me set a goal button.
  2. Tap on Current Weight and Goal Weight to enter the correct number.
  3. Tap on the the Next button.

  1. Tap on the plan intensity you desire. There are four options:
    • Easier: Lose 0.5 lbs a week with a calorie deficit of 250 per day.
    • Medium: Lose 1.0 lbs a week with a calorie deficit of 500 per day.
    • Kinda Hard: Lose 1.5 lbs a week with a calorie deficit of 750 per day.
    • Harder: Lose 2.0 lbs a week with a calorie deficit of 1000 per day
  2. Tap the Next button through the next couple screens. Read over the quick bits of information Fitbit has to offer you.
  3. Tap the Done button.

Now you have a goal for how many pounds you want to lose and an estimated timeline for when you will complete it. Time to get to work!

You can also manually change your daily caloric intake goal.

  1. Launch Fitbit from your Home screen.
  2. Tap on the Account tab. It's in the bottom right corner of your screen.

  2. Type the amount of calories you want to eat everyday.
  3. Tap the Next button.
  4. Tap on the Done button.
