I cant seem to get my yahoo or aim or google talk to work on this…i have an iTouch…..this is really frustrating any help???? i pushed save it doesnt save it

To the user asking how to send SMS alerts through beejive..simply use push email alerts to yourphonenumber@txt.att.net

Wow, it seems like a really great application. One that might be a little too complicated to operate for my taste. Personally, I think operating mobile applications should be really quick and easy. If not, then I find myself sucked into my iPhone and not paying attention to the rest of the world around me.

the beejive app only has push email alerts... no sms.

please correct me if i'm wrong. i have an open mind and would love to learn how to turn sms notifications on beejive ON.

i love this app. Not quite ready to replace my dialer app on the dock though. i think the IM screen is too small, make the keyboard smaller or the text bubbles smaller. you can barely see one bubble on the screen at a time if the keyboard is open.

for what ever reason it deletes about 95% of my MSN contacts!!! I learned the hard way, I have not found to restore them but i was able to go to my allow list and re-add them. Since i have made a back up of my contacts so i could test this again… and boom contacts missing. I can confirm this.

Doesnt accept australian phone numbers during set up. When will developers realize there are more iPhones outside the US than in and create aps based on this.

ok the voice mail thing i can see being a problem so contact app would have to be on front but not dock worthy now

other than that its definitly worth a download simply because it is one of the few that has potential in future app store updates

The only benefit to this i can see is the IM’s (AKA text messeging) for all contacts. Much cleaner then AOL app.

I forgot to mention another issue. I have many contacts who have multiple numbers, but no IM ID. I should be able to set a preference for what buttons appear in the Pinger Contacts, or better yet, have it determine what items are in the contact and display buttons accordingly. Currently, I only have IM info for two contacts, but I have an IM button for all contacts, and only a mobile phone button. Having other phone buttons would prove VERY helpful.

While I could see possibly replacing the Apple Phone App in the tray with Pinger, you would definitely still have to keep the Apple app on the front screen. Pinger has no way of notifying you if you have a voicemail, and allowing you to access voicemail. I will certainly have to play with it for a while before making the switch.

This looks like a great improvement on the defualt dialer. I should add, though, that I use BeeJive and they now provide SMS notifications as well.
