Apple releases iOS 7 beta 3 - download it now (if you're a developer)!

Apple has just released iOS 7 beta 3 to developers. It's available both as an over the air (OTA) download and, if past is prologue, it'll be available soon from Apple's developer web site (assuming, of course, you're a registered iOS developer).

Apple's public information about iOS 7 beta 3 indicates bug fixes and improvements. iOS 7 is covered under Apple's Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with registered developers as Apple prepares its release to the general public this fall. Registered developers should check the release notes before updating.

Stevenojobs says:

If the feedback are good I'm putting back my 4S on iOS 7

Baz Bradshaw says:

I have beta 2 but am not a devloper will it still work for me

mindfrost82 says:

Depends on how you got Beta 2. If your UDID is registered as an Apple Development device, then you should be able to do the OTA. Otherwise, no, I wouldn't risk it as it is only meant for developers anyway.

GuyBey0ndC00L says:

I'm not a developer and I don't have a registered UDID. I'm running iOS 7 beta 3, on iPhone 5.

Daniboy246 says:

I didn`t register my UDID and for me it works fine to update and everything else :)

Stevenojobs says:

At least apple follows the calendar

KFronz782 says:

for now, i believe or if i remember correctly after beta 3 the releases are further and further apart. also, if you are installing make sure you have time.. mine took 33 minutes.

iphone32gbwhite says:

so the folders have a more bluish tint

KFronz782 says:

the banner with your clock, battery level, time etc. auto rotates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kch50428 says:

Fonts on lock screen, passcode screen, and overall seem a tad 'thicker'...

phoon61 says:

it seems more responsive, the fonts in messages conversations seem bolder and the status bar on lock screen is bigger/easier to read

SockRolid says:

As soon as iOS 7 is stable enough, I'll run out and get a low-end iPod touch (5th gen) just for testing. So I won't ever need to put any beta version of iOS on my personal iPhone 5. Could be pretty soon, from what I'm hearing.

Hello, can I talk to you personally? I have a question. I'm 13 without a developer account, can u please register my UDID?

Can u get it (OTA) without a developer account?

malikoshaq says:

Seems like the iPhone 4 lost a lot of the visuals (parallax, blur) in this update, according to the change log..

Solamar says:

Probably a good thing really. it's A4, isn't that beefy. and it will save battery on it.

KFronz782 says:

you don't have to pull down to enable search in messages.. there's a search bar right at the top...

nashlib says:

This is project beautification on Beta 3 of iOS 7 - the font look a bit thicker and (subjectively) prettier !!!
The crashing has stopped (mercifully)
The animation look nicer.

The notification center UI is better - slightly... The calander app is doing what is hould do .... nice over all !!!!
Will update my iPad and get back on the forum !!!

carrea says:

My iPhone 4S (non developer) says failed to check for update

carrea says:

Should we wait a while?

RoboWarrior says:

If OTA doesn't work, download the update from another site and on iTunes option-click update. Find the update files and voila, your device is updated to the newest beta.

carrea says:

But can't I just go to iTunes and click check for update?

Appears to have bricked my iPhone 5 doing an upgrade from beta 2. Phone will not turn on, or do anything. Joy...

chiratsu says:

I had no issues doing an OTA

erriiiic says:

Where is everyone downloading it from? I can't find it anywhere.

carrea says:

We download ios 7 beta 1 and then update OTA

Collin Smudde says:

so if i update my 4s it wont be get bricked in anyway? even if a new beta comes out for some reason? im not a developer

wamadden4 says:

If you don't have a dev account don't do it... Or have a dev register your UDID... That's what I did....

Ryan Rhoads says:

Siri and Notifications is solid black and white. Control center is solid grey and white.

Skier1960 says:

I think it's the reverse of that?????

Jenna Jameson says:

Two noticeable bugs that still need fixing after downloading on my iPad:
1. Restore button on all three iWork suite apps does not hold, and becoming a problem to sync docs from iCloud.
2. After closing all open apps, if I tap on the home screen after doing so my home screen saver becomes black.

tail24 says:

Newly updated or new apps have a tiny blue dot before their name. I am assuming that they have this to indicate the automatically updated apps and that there are new changes to aee

KFronz782 says:

ok, this is what i have found.. keep in mind, these are my own personal bugs, that i have found.
1- dont have to sign into icloud all of the time anymore beta 2 fix
2- sometime when i was typing it was entering random letters.. i think this is ok" for now
3- at times when i go into my photos it all blacks out
4- still NO calendar list in notification center, or 5 day quick view weather
5- cant view all day events in notification center must open app to do so
6- twice now the status bar time, battery, service etc has got stuck on the right side of the screen
7- if you use the iphone twitter app and you get a alert (or if you have it set to alert when someone tweets) you dont get a preview in the status bar notification center (when your phone us unlocked and you are not in twitter)
8- i took my phone off charger at 5:09 pm, and it is 9:06pm and the battery is at 23... (with normal usage as i would any other day)
9- i beleive i just left twitter open and my phone locked, but my lock screen was whatever screen i was on in twitter (totally random)

a big fix (for me), when my phone would die, and id plug it back in and go to unlock it, the phone was unresponsive.. i had to force shut it down 2-3 times.. this seems to be fixed..
doesnt seem to freeze

#'s 4, 5 & 8 are REALLY important to me.. and yes I UNDERSTAND THIS IS BETA AND THERE WILL BE BUGS.. but why they can fix these 3 things in 3 betas is beyond me.. unless apple is totally taking these features out, which is bogus because its a pain to open the calendar to see all day events, as well as to open a weather app..

michaelmaniac124 says:

Can i do the ota update? Im not a developer but i got ios 7 beta 2 and my phone got the software update thing, if i update will my phone be rendered useless or will it work? Thanks in advanced :)

hfj352 says:

I really don't see ANYthing innovative. I guess I'll keep my iPhone 5 until I see "real" improvements/innovation. I won't dare go back to android.

Has anyone else lost transparency in the notification screen and control panel screen? My notification screen is solid black, no transparency? Control panel just grey, no transparency anymore? I like the transparency better..

mine is the same.. the time in notification center is transparent tho

I figured it out its because the 'increased contrast' option under accessibility is turned on you have to turn it off if you don't want it black, then it will just be gray

jake501 says:

Yes, I updated both my iPhone 5 and 4S. The 5 has a solid black notification screen, and the 4S is transparent? So I assume something went wrong with the 5 update.. Tonight I'll try restoring to 6.1.4, then update to iOS 7 beta 3..
