Sprint location glitch leads owners of stolen phones to the home of unknowing Las Vegas man

Services such as Find my iPhone are great as long as they work the way they're supposed to. Wayne Dobson, a 59 year old Las Vegas resident, has learned the hard way what happens when cell phone tracking programs malfunction. Owners of lost cell phones keep showing up at his door demanding their phones back. The only problem is, he doesn't have them. The problem seems to be isolated to Sprint cell phone users and due to a glitch that shows owners of lost devices that they are located near Dobson's home.

Find my iPhone now has driving directions to device locations

Apple's Find my iPhone app has been updated to include driving direction to device location. The Play Sound, Lost Mode, and Erase buttons also now appear separately from the map view. The driving directions feature requires iOS 6, so users still on iOS 5 will not be able to enjoy this convenience.

iPhone patent applications reveal better Find My iPhone, social matching, and a way to stop users from recording concerts(?!) [Patent Roundup]

A few interesting patent applications from Apple have recently surfaced, showing they have some bold ideas surrounding Find My iPhone, social-matching, and a way to lock the camera so we can't make bootleg concert recordings and plaster them on YouTube (?!).
