Twitter now an integrated part of iOS 5

iOS 5 was recently rumored to have Twitter integration built-in. From what Apple is showing today at WWDC 2011, there will now be a new feature they're referring to as a "tweet sheet" that integrates into "Twitter friendly apps".

iOS 5 revamps iOS notifications

It looks as if the Apple Gods have answered some of our notification gripes. iOS 5 will bring with it revamped notifications. It looks as if there's a reason Apple hired Peter Hajas as it looks a heck of a lot like MobileNotifier. I've had revamped notifications in my jailbreak to stock want list for a long while.

WWDC 2011 by the numbers: 25 million iPads, 450K apps, 90K iPad apps, $2.5 billion to devs,

We're covering WWDC 2011 live! And along with WWDC always comes facts and figures. Here's an interesting one - Apple has sold over 25 million iPads in the past 14 months. This figure includes the original iPad and the iPad 2.

Developers have created over 90,000 applications just for iPad since its initial launch. And with it came over $2.5B in money paid out to developers. Yes, we said that right, billions.

This obviously includes all iOS platforms (iPad, iPhone, iPod). For many light users, the iPad has succeeded in replacing their personal computer.

Secret Banners at WWDC, One More Thing?

With just minutes to go before the keynote at WWDC, reports are showing that there are 2 massive banners covered with black cloths.

There are 3 confirmed banners on display at WWDC, displaying the much-anticipated iCloud logo, iOS5 and OSX Lion, but what are under these black cloths?

Could this be a 'one more thing' at the end of the presentation? iPhone 4S? iPhone 5? Something More?

Don't forget to join our live meta-blog, where we'll find out exactly what is under those sheets.

iOS 5 to have BBM style message integration, better notifications, widgets, and more?

It's that time of year again and WWDC 2011 is upon us. We have our iOS want list up and if This Is My Next actually does have a credible source, we may be able to check off quite a few things.

Here's a list of changes from their source:

  • Messaging - The word is that Apple is readying its own MMS / SMS protocol which will be a native part of the phone. We’re not entirely clear on how this would work, but apparently it will be able to automatically identify iOS users and route the message accordingly.

Friday Fun: The unofficial One more thing (WWDC 2011 Song)

The phrase “One more thing” is such a well known term delivered at the end of Apple keynotes by CEO Steve Jobs. It’s usually just before announcing an amazing new product right at the very end. In honor of this, Cory Smith of Cardinal Media Technologies has put together a rap song entitled......One more thing (WWDC 2011 Song). Some of the lyrics are below:-

Phil Schiller told us we wouldn’t want to miss this would have been gold if there’d been more specifics so I look to Gruber discern his predictions to see if the rumors will turn into fiction damn this consumer addiction to all these gadgets and the magic within them all the designs by Jonny Ive so I guess I better check who’s blogging live can’t wait to download the developer preview

You can listen to the full song right after the break. It’s good fun and all adds nicely to the build up to WWDC 2011.

Moscone banner shows off iCloud icon in advance of WWDC 2011

Look through the glass and what do we see, the iCloud logo on a banner at WWDC! Yes, it does seem like someone traced the MobileMe icon to make the iCloud icon but that's also a nice little bit of continuity.
