Apple's iPad mini should be your go-to if you want a great experience with a small tablet. It's the best iPad for those that prioritize portaility and, right now, you can save as much as $99 on one over at Best Buy.

The diminutive tablet is down as low as $299.99 there for a limited time. That's a match for the lowest we have ever seen it go with the last time it hit that price being Cyber Monday last year. With rumors of an iPad mini 6 swirling, this might be your last chance to snag the 5th-gen model before it goes off sale for good.

The current-gen iPad mini was released in 2019. It kept the familiar 7.9-inch form factor of its 2015 predecessor but got something of an internal overhaul.

As well as moving to the powerful A12 Bionic chip, with its three times faster processing and nine times faster graphics, it also got a significant display upgrade with a 25% increase in brightness, support for True Tone and P3 wide color, as well as Apple Pencil support.

Rumors suggest that a radically redesigned 6th-generation iPad mini is on the way this fall, so we expect the iPad mini 5 will be discontinued meaning this might be your last chance to save on one.

Sales on the current-gen model have been few and far between during its lifetime and we expect the new model won't see any discounts for quite some time after its release, so if you'd rather save some cash than have the latest and greatest, then this is the time to buy.
