Instagram reportedly testing 3D Touch-powered ads, Apple Pay support

Instagram is reportedly testing new in-app ads that leverage the 3D Touch technology found in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Ads in testing apparently leverage the technology in order to let customers choose between different product options.

From Digiday:

"From an innovation standpoint, Instagram is where a lot of brands are putting the most eggs," the ad agency executive said. "Force touch gets interesting, because instead of quickly tapping Shop Now to buy this one thing, you can choose from two or three offers. It makes for more frictionless shopping."

In addition to 3D Touch, Instagram is also said to be looking at Apple Pay integration. With Apple Pay, customers would be able to make a purchase directly from an ad without needing to enter additional information or heading to a browser.

No word has been given as to when these new ads might launch.
