In what is likely a marketing masterstroke, Oreo has teased an upcoming announcement Wednesday with a hilarious Apple-style invite.

The company took to Twitter Tuesday to announce a HQ Event on November 17 at 10 am ET stating:

Something new is coming. Come back at 10am ET tomorrow to find out what it is.

As you can see from the tweet, the event invitation is styled to look almost exactly like the invite that Apple sent out for its October 2020 event where it unveiled the new iPhone 12 and HomePod mini.

Folk in the comments were quick to notice the similarity, with one person even asking if Oreo was getting a notch:

At its October event in 2020, Apple unveiled a slew of new products and a massive iPhone upgrade to its regular and Pro lineups, alongside the HomePod mini, its new smaller smart speaker. Apple's event invites are notoriously abstract and are always scrutinized by excited tech fans to see what information can be gleaned from them. Some speculated that the round shapes of the October invite (pictured) confirmed that AirTags would be announced, while others still claimed the shades of orange and blue signaled that new iPhone colors were on the way. Unfortunately, we're not Oreo experts and neither Jon Prosser nor Mark Gurman have offered any insight into what might be announced by the company.

Update, November 17 (5:00 pm ET) — Oreo has unveiled its new product in Apple-like fashion

Oreo has unveiled its next product in an Apple-like fashion. The company posted a video to its Twitter account that unveils its new OREO THINS Extra Stuf with a product video quite similar to the ones that Apple releases to go over the features of its latest products.

The whole thing is great and whoever at OREO came up with the idea should get a bonus. Or a cookie.
