The V2 has a front and rear facing camera. The rear camera points inside the cabin instead of behind the car. That's an important distinction because some of the Rexing rear cameras, like on the $79.99 M1, can be used as backup cameras. Rear cameras pointing inside your car can help record break ins and capture night-time events that happen while you're away and the car is parked.
The V2's rear camera records in 1080p resolution. It has infrared night vision and a wide dynamic range so it can perform optimally in low light. It also automatically adjusts the exposure to create balanced footage.
The front camera records in 2880 x 2160 resolution with a frame rate up to 120 fps. You can mount the cam anywhere on a windshield, and it will keep a low profile so it's not a distraction. With the built-in Wi-Fi you can immediately save or share any clips made by your dash cam to your mobile device.
These also have a G-sensor that's designed to detect when a collision occurs and immediately start recording. The video is also locked out so it stays protected.
The more advanced Rexing V3, which is down to $139.99 from a street price of $200 in this sale, offers some distinct advantages for the price. For one thing, it has integrated GPS so you can track the time, date, location, and speed information on every recording. It also has a supercapacitor for power, which is more efficient and more weather resistant than a lithium-ion battery. It can also record using loop recording and has an advanced driver assistance system that helps provide real-lane departure warnings.
