Amazon's line of Fire tablets are already affordable when compared to something like an iPad, making them perfect for giving to children or using around the house for media consumption. While they might not replace your laptop like an iPad Pro, they won't break the bank either — especially if you make the most of this limited-time sale on previous-gen Fire tablets at Woot. Shipping is free with Amazon Prime and, unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know now is a great time to be a Prime member with Amazon Prime Day approaching.

Amazon Fire HD 8, 2017

Although it was supplanted by the 2018 model, the 2017 Fire HD 8 packs almost identical hardware specs so is well worth the price at $55. It's offered in new condition, too.

Oldie but a goodie

Amazon Fire HD 10, 2015

There have been a couple of versions of the Fire HD 10 since this 2015 model came out, but it's still perfect usable for your day-to-day web browsing and content consumption needs. It's brand new and comes with a 1-year Amazon warranty, too.

The sale includes the Fire HD 8 from 2017. The offer applies to the a variety of colors options in 16GB or 32GB capacities. The previous-gen tablet features an 8-inch HD display, quad-core processor, and 12-hour battery life. The 16GB version is $54.99 and you can double the capacity for just $5 more. Unlike a lot of Woot deals, they are provided in new condition for less than you'd pay for a used model at Amazon Warehouse right now. Regardless of the storage option you go for, you'll probably want to pick up a microSD card with the money you save on this deal to add extra space for movies, games and more.

The 2018 Fire HD 8 doesn't add much hardware-wise over its predecessor other than support for larger 400GB microSD cards and an improved 2MP front-facing camera. If you don't mind the differences and don't have use for hands-free Alexa, you'd be wise to opt for the cheaper 2017 model.

If you want a larger tablet, the 2015 Fire HD 10 is also on sale at Woot. Despite being an older model, it's also listed as brand new and carries a 1-year Amazon warranty. It has a 10.1-inch display, quad-core processor, and 8-hour battery life. It has 32GB of internal storage, though you can add a microSD card up to 200GB. Though it was replaced by the current-gen model in 2017, it's still more than serviceable for day-to-day use and will only cost you $80 in this sale — almost half as much as the latest version.
