European iPhone 4S pricing round up
Apple has announced some of its European launch pricing for the iPhone 4S. The countries with pricing available are the United Kingdom, France and Germany. These are the countries that will get the iPhone on October 14 with pre-orders starting on October 7. The prices are for a SIM free unlocked iPhone 4S and cell service would have to be taken out separately.

We will keep an eye on the major European carriers who have yet to show their hands when it comes to pricing or availability for the matter. When they do, we will let you know.

You've clearly failed to do any maths on this. Actually it's far cheaper in the UK.
e.g. Tesco iPhone 4 16GB last year: £429 upfront plus 12mth contract at £20pm = £669 including tax.
AT&T iPhone 4 16GB: $149 upfront plus minimum $75pm for 24mths. Even if you could do this for just a year it would be £680 exc taxes. Ater two years the UK price drops much lower and the data bundle is better on Tesco for £20 than on AT&T for $75.
I wish AT&T had a deal like that.
Adam, you are wrong. iPhones are cheaper in The States. We are talking about unlocked phones that you CAN buy up front. No need to buy & cancel.
16GB:
USA: 640$ (+tax) -> 487€ (+tax) (tax is roughly 15$ depending on the state) UK: 629€
£700!!!!! That's a nice LED 40" TV or a pretty decent laptop. Someone somewhere are smoking the funny stuff.
Australian pricing: 16GB: $799 32GB: $899 64GB: $999
Thanks to the strong aussie dollar these prices are an improvement over last year. (I think a 32GB iPhone 4 used to be about $1000)
