iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S bring record sales to Sprint
For Sprint, the launch of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S on their network brought record sales in just half a day. Fared Adib, Sprint Product Chief, issued the following statement:
Sprint today reported its best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history with the launch of iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. We reached this milestone at approximately noon CT/1pm ET. The response to this device by current and new customers has surpassed our expectations and validates our customers’ desire for a truly unlimited data pricing plan.
With new and existing customers invited to purchase an iPhone and Sprint offering unlimited data plans starting at just $79.99, it's not exactly a hard sell for those looking to get into an iOS equipped device.

The bad thing is I can too... Their 3g is already terrible at times... And now its just gonna get worse... They better start working on their network NOW!!
That won't happen. Most of the people getting iPhones on the network were most likely Android users before. Replacing an Android with an iPhone won't put any more stress on the network. In fact, if you read the article below...maybe less...

The iPhone uses a wifi connection for data before using a cellular connection. While I just got my iPhone today I've used an Android before and my sister has had an iPhone for years. Her cellular network data usage is between 1/4 and 1/3 that of my Android's data usage which couldn't care less where it got it's data fix.
Good news for Sprint's bottom line, bad news for us existing customers that already complain about crappy 3G speeds...
Not sure by the wording, but is this just for actual Sprint stores? Meaning this is not including activations on Sprint from an Apple Store?
As an employee of Sprint and a retail location to boot, I applaud the execs decision to carry this device and after today, it shows in numbers that this will only strengthen the brand. "best value in wireless!!!!!!"
That's funny, because when I was with Sprint five years ago, they didn't give two shits about Apple or that my phone was incompatible with Macs. They shrugged their shoulders, laughed, and told me "Windows only" over and over with every issue.

I agree. it's never too late for one to realize the error of their ways. Sprint may be late to the party but more choice is more choice.
I don't understand why people say that sprint's networks sucks... I get perfect signals and date speeds from LA to NY and I even get signal in mexican border cities! I love how I am never hit with suprise charges.

Yep that's existing as long as you are out of contract. With what was done to premiere has killed many from getting the iphone. Smart move there Sprint. Give people more of a reason to leave now.
if you were elig to upgrade under the premeir program you still have until dec 2012 to use your upgrade stop whinning or go to the oter carries and get to pay overages for your data usage

Sprint's 3G coverage is just fine with me. It will be interesting to see if the influx of iPhones affects network performance, but so far, so good. I got the Lennox Mall Sprint store in Atlanta around noon. The activation servers went down hard around 1pm. They were up and down from there on out. I got activated around 2pm. The store was busy all day, with a ton of Apple employees there to provide the most awesome display of customer service and product knowledge I've ever seen in my life. I can't imagine physically buying Apple products anywhere else after this amazing buying experience.
Sprint Navigation is not supported on the Iphone. You would have thought they would have worked this out in advance.
Go to the App Store and download the free GPS by TeleNav, it is the same thing as Sprint Nav and is free!
I moved from the original iPhone on AT&T to a Sprint Blackberry, then to a Evo 4G. A 4s was delivered to me Friday, and (at least where I live) Sprint's network is just fine - about what I expect.
I rarely used 4G on the Evo - not because it isn't fast, but because it killed my battery. Traveling with the Evo, I found the data hiccups were rare, of course YMMV.
