Apple airs first iPhone 4S commercial, focuses on Siri
Apple has aired their first iPhone 4S commercial and it's all about Siri, their new artificially intelligent voice control system. In the commercial, Siri is told:
- "We have a flat tire."
- "How do I tie a bow tie again?"
- "What's the fastest way to Hartford Hospital?"
- "Do I need an umbrella in New York this weekend?"
- "Call Chris when I get home."
- "Move my meeting from 3 to 4."
- "What does a weasel look like?"
- "Remind me to get milk when I leave work."
- "Tell my wife I'm going to make it."
- "Wake me up at 6."
- "Play some Coltrane."
- "I'm locked out." To which Siri replies, "I found 3 locksmiths close to you."
Highlighting Siri comes as no surprise, as a significant number of iPhone 4 commercials focused on the magic of FaceTime, and Siri is this year's big "wow" demo. (Perhaps the new camera will be next?)

First! I saw this during the World Series game. I felt so proud 'cause I own one and have been doing all that a couple of weeks now.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Siri is an iPhone 4s exclusive feature? It is software and I bet it is possible on the iPhone 4 and iPad but not available only to sell the newest phone.

nope, its their product, they can do whatever they see fit. no one is holding a gun to your head to buy it. if u don't like it, walk away.

I'm sure it will come to iPhone 4 in the next update.
i just wanna know, have anyone tested to tell siri to write down something?
example, i am doing a stock check on a warehouse, i only say, "write down this on the Notes app" "5 iPads" "10 iPhones",etc. can she do something like that?
i cant wait to test it myself, but iphone 4s is still not yet avalaible to Indonesian Customer.
Just say "Note" 10 iPhones, etc and it's in your notes. Awesome
Yeah, it's surprisingly accurate. Even if you wanted to do it with quotation marks, commas, and the like, it would put it all down in the notes.app for you.
Apple freakin doesnt even need to air commercials for the iPhone!!!! The iPhone 4S has moved 4 million units already, before 1 ad was even aired!!!!
Unfortunately you can't really do many of those things if you are outside the USA…!
If I tell German Siri that I've locked myself out the reply is "Okay". Um, thanks for nothing, Siri…
Let's hope that Apple adds places, maps and services to other localizations real zoo, until then Siri is only half as useful…

I tried all these commands, and many don't work for me (I'm in the US) so i have to wonder if i have settings wrong. it won't tie a reminder to a location automatically, the bow tie thing is a web search (acceptable) and i get no weasel pictures.
