BlackBerry has released an update for the iPhone version of its BBM messaging app. The new version includes paid subscription options to get rid of ads and more.

BBM for the iPhone

For 99 cents a month, BBM users won't see any ads in their feed, and also won't get any sponsored invites from third parties. For $1.99 a month, users can also create a custom PIN. Here's how that will work:

With a Custom PIN subscription you can make a PIN that's easy for you and your friends to remember and/or says something special about you. Custom PINs have to follow certain guidelines. They must be 6-8 characters long, and can include numbers and letters only. Special characters cannot be used and PINs are not case sensitive.

Some of the other new features in this update include being able to lock BBM with a passcode and Touch ID. Users can now share photos directly in group chats and there's also a way to delete chats by swiping. In addition, the app includes landscape support for the first time.
