Grand Theft Auto III coming to iPhone 4S and iPad 2

Rockstar Games has announced that it is bringing the hugely popular console game Grand Theft Auto III to the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The game which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month will be demoed for the first time at New York Comic Con which runs from 13-16 October.

10 years ago, this month, the revolutionary open-world epic Grand Theft Auto III was released to the world – a game that set players loose as a small-time criminal at the bottom of the food chain in Liberty City, a sprawling metropolis where anything can happen – and probably will.

Grand Theft Auto III should be available exclusively on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 later this fall. We will let you know as soon as it hits the App Store. I can't wait!

Grand Theft Auto III coming to iPhone 4S and iPad 2

I like III alright, but now I'm hoping to see Vice City and San Andreas (which is in my top two or three games of all time) on there in time. I suppose the storage requirements might be an issue but they could always do something like make most of the radio stations in-app purchases to save space, or even break the games up into parts.

Same here, glad I have my iPad 2 though so I can still use these things otherwise I'd feel hopeless :-/

Agreed, pretty sure it should be able to run on the 4 to be fair. 3GS would struggle though.
Here's my thought on it - why don't Apple just up the clock speed of the A4 chip?

lol get your facts right before you write...exclusively? how can it be an exclusive if its also on android

They mean it is exclusive to the 4s and iPad2 (I.e. not the 3GS, 4, or iPad 1 or any generation of iPod touch) but I agree the text was misleading

I thought apple wouldn't let apps on the AppStore unless they could run across at least two generations. Dreamscape got the reject because it couldn't work on the 3Gs. They went back and changed it so it could.

Great. Exclusive for iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. Glad I just bought and IPod Touch 4th Gen.
