While nearly two million people have brought iPhones onto T-Mobile's network despite the carrier not offering the iPhone until the 12th of April, they've been saddled with service that's not as good as it could have been. According to TmoNews, that's set to change on April 5th, when T-Mobile plans to push a carrier update to iPhones on the network that will bring official visual voicemail and MMS to such devices as well as enabling LTE access for unlocked iPhone 5 users.

As previously reported, the iPhone is finally coming to T-Mobile USA. The iPhone 5 will launch on the carrier on April 12, for the price fo $99 without a contract. The iPhone 5 will be compatible with T-Mobile’s new LTE network, which launches today in seven cities nationwide.

T-Mobile USA is rumored to be getting the iPhone today. The last of big four networks in the US without the iPhone, T-Mobile has an event scheduled for later today -- called Uncarrier -- and that's where the announcement 6 years in the making is supposed to take place. Roger Cheng from CNET reports:

The iPhone is critical to T-Mobile's plans to remake itself as the "different" carrier. It will be the marquee product illustrating its new no-contract, no-subsidy rules, where a customer pays a small fee upfront and pays a monthly charge on top of the service plan to cover the phone costs.

Apple has launched a new promotion to entice would be iPhone buyers by offering them free next day shipping. The new promotion ony appears to be available in the U.S. Apple Store and no where else. The offer covers all models of iPhone from the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the latest iPhone 5 models.

Last week Apple sent out marketing emails informing its customers of reasons why they should buy the iPhone 5. Apple also launched a web page called “Why iPhone” which listed a host of features, one of which was touting the iPhone as the J.D. Power and Associates choice for customer satisfaction for a staggering eight years running. Well that page was quickly outdated earlier this week when we heard the iPhone had picked up the award for the ninth year running.

Apple has the highest U.S. customer satisfaction amongst smartphone manufacturers, according to J.D. Power and Associates. The survey ranks companies on a 1,000-point scale, using criteria such as performance, physical design, features, and ease of operation. Apple scores 855, sixty points higher than the next company on the list, Nokia.

The US Department of Defense is currently testing various Apple iOS devices and on completion of the tests is set to purchase 650,000 iOS devices. The news comes from Electronista who has a source familiar with the situation. The new devices are set to replace the existing older BlackBerry handsets that can’t run Blackberry 10 software.
