Mercedes-Benz Financial adapts iPad for business use

Mercedes-Benz is providing iPads to 40 lucky dealers across the country so that they gain access to the company's point-of-sale dealer system on the showroom floors.

"Mercedes-Benz Financial today announced that it is putting the Apple iPad into the hands of its dealers, becoming the first automotive finance company to give dealers mobile access to its proprietary point-of-sale dealer system called MB Advantage. In doing so, Mercedes-Benz Financial is one of the first companies to adapt the consumer-oriented iPad as a mobile business tool."

And why not use iPad as it will provide the dealers with wireless mobility, information and flexibility - directly at their finger tips.

Video after the break! And yes we are aware it will not play on your iPhone - blame Mercedes-Benz for using Flash...

Mercedes-Benz Financial adapts iPad for business use

Oh lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes-Benz, their dealers use iPads--they must be my friends!
Won't run no Flash content, but at least it blends--oh lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes-Benz...

The times they are a'changing at Apple as well: I just watched your video on my iPhone using CloudBrowse. Unjailbreaked. ;)

@ZC Glad to hear it although I hope you had something else to keep you entertained during the 5 minutes it took your phone to load the webpage. In all seriousness though, this Mercedes implementation is really exciting and a great jumpstart for the iPad in mainstream business.

Wow. Now if only MB would make integration of the iphone and ipod in their vehicles simple and inexpensive. I two to of their cars. Have vowed not to get another until their vehicles are truly user friendly. The interface in my 2008 SUV reminds me of Windows 95. Don't get me started on the 2006. Both will be replaced in February of next year.

The Nexus one is horrible. I know because i have one.. ready to trade this thing in when the 4th gen iPhone comes out.

Yep! not only did i just visit a webpage with flash and watch a flash video on my iphone, i just posted this comment without ever closing the CloudBrowse app!

The iphone in comparison with my current N1 is weak. Flash has been great, the stock browser still loads faster than Safari ever did. It's a shame that Apple is letting themselves be blown out of the water.

Why didn't M-B decide to use netbooks instead? I've heard that netbooks are far better devices than the iPad because they have keyboards and run Flash. They're also a lot cheaper. Although I'm sure M-B doesn't want to be associated with the word "cheap". I guess M-B didn't hear that the iPad was a "totally useless toy". That's right, Steve Jobs drives a Mercedes SL55 AMG, so it's only fitting that M-B pays Steve Jobs back by using his iPad.

I’m impressed, I have to say. Actually rarely do I encounter a blog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have got hit the nail on the head. Your thought is excellent; the issue is something that not enough individuals are talking intelligently about. I am very completely happy that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for something regarding this.

i'll fart mercedes out my ass, there should be a newwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww adverisement, nicholas silvestre,
