Facebook for iPhone and iPad has updated with a new photo viewer button that lets you save, share, or set the photo as your profile pictures. Editing a place you're checking into on the iPhone has also been improved, and Events should load faster, now. But that's not the most interesting thing about this update...
Facebook has pushed out an update to their Pages Manager app for iOS, with the emphasis on a rebuild for speed. Facebook says that they have completely rebuilt the app for version 2.0 so that it is faster and easier to use, with much improved timeline scrolling.
Facebook has pushed out an update to their Messenger application for iPhone and iPod Touch that adds some new cuteness and brings back functionality that once was lost.
iMore has learned that, following Facebook Home, Chat Heads, and other recent releases, Facebook has additional, incremental updates in the works for their Messenger app as well. One of the updates in the pipeline is Facebook Blast, an enhancement to how users can send messages to multiple recipients.
Richard Williamson, who led the team responsible for iOS 6 Maps, and was ultimately let go by Apple following it's controversial release, is now reportedly working at Facebook. According to Adam Satariano of Bloomberg, Williamson has been at Facebook for a couple of weeks at least. And what's more, he's not alone:
Today Facebook released a fairly major update for the iOS Facebook app. Among the new features are messenger stickers and Chat Heads (a horribly named feature first announced for Facebook Home). Currently these new features have only rolled out to a limited number of users. However, if you have an urgent need to test them out, and you don't mind doing a little tweaking, you can temporarily enable them on your iOS device right now.
Facebook wants to get Facebook Home on iOS. This should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone familiar with Facebook, their business model, the realities of the smartphone market, and global plans for world domination by anyone, anywhere. Specifically in this case, however, it's Facebook's product director, Adam Mosseri, who's talking it up. According to Bloomberg:

As the zero-concentration span dude zips around his Facebook Home, what he sees gets made manifest, be it lawn cart or flood. And... it still seems more than slightly onanistic. It shows off Home for Home's sake, not for users sake.
