Apple reportedly acquires digital audio instrument maker Camel Audio [updated]

Update: Jim Dalrymple over at The Loop reached out to Apple for comment. Here's what they said:

"Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans."

As Dalrymple notes, this is typically the response Apple gives when they have indeed purchased a company.

Original Story: It looks like Apple acquired digital audio instrument and plug-in maker Camel Audio, according to the company's corporate information listed in the UK government's Companies House website.

Logic Pro X update improves Mac Pro support, new features, and bug fixes

Apple has updated Logic Pro X, its pro-level audio editing software for Mac, with a fixes and improvements. These improvements include support for 24 processing threads in the 12-core Mac Pro models.

Logic Pro X gets updated, adds new Drummers, new EQ plugin interface, more

Logic Pro X, Apple's reimagined pro-level audio editor for OS X, has just ben updated to version 10.0.5. Features include 3 new Drummers, 11 new Drum Kit Designer patches, enhancements to Channel EQ and Linear Phase EQ plugins, including redesigned interfaces, and a bunch of fixes and performance enhancements. Nothing in there reads updated for the new Mac Pro, but then Logic Pro X probably isn't anywhere nearly as GPU scalable as Final Cut Pro X.
