How to get iTunes Radio working with your Sonos system via AirPlay

I've had a Sonos system since the beginning of the year and can't imagine my life without it now. Put it this way, I love Sonos. And if I could think of a stronger word, I'd use it. However, one irritation of mine has always been that it doesn't come with built-in AirPlay support. It also doesn't support iTunes Radio, another minor annoyance to me. However, I did some thinking and poking around yesterday and found out that depending on your system setup, you can trick Sonos into streaming iTunes Radio throughout your entire home. Here's how!

Deezer is marking its US debut by announcing a premium streaming service in the country called Deezer Elite, which will work exclusively on Sonos systems. Through the service, you'll be able to stream over 30 million songs from Deezer's catalog in the lossless FLAC format with a quality of 16-bit/44.1kHz (or around 1,411 kbps), which is is a significant improvement over what other streaming music services like Spotify offer at 320 kbps.

Sonos speaker update dismantles the bridge in favor of Wi-Fi connectivity

Sonos has today announced a substantial software update (version 5.1), which will allow consumers to run existing hardware from the company directly through Wi-Fi. This negates the requirement to have everything wired up to a router or even a Sonos Bridge. Simply connect the speakers to a wireless network and you're good to go.

Hands-on with the new Sonos Controller for iOS

The folks at Sonos have released an update to their Sonos Controller app for both iOS and Android devices. While it doesn't change much of the functionality, it does add a redesigned UI, the ability to create playlists on the fly and universal search across all of your music services. It's been available on Android in beta form for a few weeks, but it's now officially available for everyone to enjoy.
