Sprint has announced their Q1 2013 financial results and in addition to a lot of other, sometimes weirdly acronym'd, numbers, out of 5 million smartphones sold, 1.5 million were iPhones.

What could Dish + Sprint mean for the future of mobile video on iOS?

Satellite TV innovator Dish Network has thrown a monkey wrench into Softbank’s plans to acquire a 70% interest in Sprint by offering a 13% premium over Softbank’s bid, and rather than buy a majority of Sprint they’re proposing a full merger. DISH Network makes bid to buy Sprint out from under SoftBank

DISH Network has launched a $25.5 billion bid to merge with Sprint. Although Japanese carrier SoftBank is currently preparing to purchase Sprint, shareholders for the third-place U.S. carrier would have the opportunity to reject that bid in favor of DISH Network’s.

Sprint reports Q4 2012 results, 2.2 million iPhones sold

Sprint has announced their Q4 2012 financial results, and along with net operating revenue of $35.3 billion, including $21.7 billion from wireless, with an annual operating loss of 1.8 billion. Sprint sold 2.2 million iPhones, 38% of which went to new customers. No Q4 smartphone total was given, but Sprint also reported their 2012 full year results, which included approximately 20 million smartphones sold, more than 6.6 million of which were iPhones, 40% of which went to new customers. Sprint expands LTE coverage to 11 more cites

Sprint has expanded its LTE network to 11 more cities today. The third-place US carrier will be expanding into smaller cities in seven states, including Virginia, Indiana, and Massachusetts. This is part of a larger rollout by Sprint to increase LTE coverage as well as improve the quality of their 3G network.

LTE-enabled iPad mini and fourth-gen iPad will come to Sprint

When the cellular iPad mini and 4th-generation iPad launch next month, Sprint will find itself standing next to Verizon and AT&T in offering iPads for use on their LTE network.
