How to cancel Amazon Prime

Amazon recently announced that it will increase its yearly subscription price to Prime account holders by 20% — up to $119. Though the annual cost of Prime has been $99 since 2014, it truly does sting to see the cost of Amazon's premium service go past $100. If you've reached the tipping point and decided that Prime is just not worth $120, here's how to cancel your subscription.

How to cancel your Amazon Prime subscription on iPhone and iPad

  1. Navigate to Amazon.com (opens in new tab) from a web browser.
  2. Tap Sign In.
  3. Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Amazon account.
  4. Tap Continue.
  5. Enter the password associated with your Amazon account.
  6. Tap Sign In.

  1. Tap Prime membership.
  2. Tap End Membership and Benefits.
  3. Tap End My Benefits.

How to cancel your Amazon Prime subscription on Mac

  1. Navigate to Amazon.com (opens in new tab) from a web browser.
  2. Click Hello. Sign In.
  3. Click Sign In.

  1. Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Amazon account.
  2. Click Continue.
  3. Enter the password associated with your Amazon account.
  4. Click Sign In.

  1. Click Accounts & Lists.
  2. Click Prime.

  1. Click End Membership and Benefits in the sidebar.
  2. Click End My Benefits.

  • Amazing, someone that writes an article detailing how to make sure you get an overpriced $350 HomePod on day one, is up in arms because Amazon raised it's price by $5 a year over it's last increase in 2014.
    By the way when Prime was introduced in 2005 it was $79.
    If you check an inflation calculator $79 in 05 is the equivalent of over $100 in 2018 dollars..
    Needless to say, Prime (at only $20 over it's original price) provides way more in value than it did in 2005. Twitch, Music, Video, etc.
  • I'm not cancelling for now. I changed my membership to Student. After I graduate, I'll decide what I wish to do.
