The price has dropped to $.99. Neat product but looking forward to later versions. The fact that I can’t go back and view the item I’ve just scanned (to see the complete nutritional info) is a big hindrance. Scanned the bar codes really well, though.

Food Scanner really rocks! But there is a lot of incorrect food info folks have put in. Sometimes there are multiple entries forthe same item so you need to give the info a glance to make sure it's correct for your product.

This is great example of the power of 2-way data -- I've entered 6 or 7 items in the past couple days and am glad it's getting shared.

My only current wish (besides merging the 2 apps which would be a "nice to have") is for the app to save a list of your recent entries or your favs. It's a drag reentering a non-barcoded food every day having to search for it each time.

@Adam it actually picked up the barcodes on a coke can, so it does quite well on reflective & curved surfaces. If there’s no barcode, then you can still do a keyword search for the product.

What if everything you eat doesn’t have a barcode! >_> and does it scan non-traditional barcodes? Like, the one on the coke can, or the ones on the bottom of McDonalds burger boxes?? I think fast food companies should generate a barcode for every meal they sell and put it on your receipt, which can then be scanned into an app like this. That would be useful.
