Another probably fake iPhone 5 spy shot

Also probably not the iPhone 5

A MacRumors forum member going by the handle guigsh posted the above photo(shop) in their forums this morning, claiming it was a spy shot of iPhone 5 taken in the office of a French operator. While we've seen spy shots of HP webOS devices under similar circumstances in the past, this one doesn't look much more believable than those [Chinese iClones we've been seeing lately].

A follow-up post from the thread author gives us the following information:

we were able to see it only 2 minutes, pictures forbidden of course, so, we did our best. I just want to share this with the mac community, now trust me or not. Rendez-vous in 1-2 months

No doubt we'll see tons more leaks, and tons more fakes before Steve Jobs holds up the real deal this fall. In the meantime, this one is making the blog rounds so take it for what it's worth -- a very large grain of salt. I'm personally not convinced in the least.

Your turn. Real, fake, or really fake?

Amusing that the hands have pixilation, yet the phone does not.

n0thinghead says:

even the hardware is retina display now.

Michael Giardinello says:

That's exactly what I picked up on. I doubt it's the real thing.

francolasalsa#IM says:

All I care about is having a 4 inch screen which this doesn't so I hope it's fake

Danny says:

This guy didn't even TRY!!!! Horrible Photoshop!!

TheAndroid1 says:

No chance they are raising the iphone price by 200 each.

Torontocyrus says:

The hands are pixilated as to not identify the person holding it. If these big corps wanted to really analyze the hands and identify it with their investigators, it could happen. Apple got a warrant to search a persons home and take their computers for having the prototype leaked ip4

davjaxn says:

It wasnt a "leaked" prototype. It was essentially stolen property. And Apple didnt get a warrant to search a home. As powerful as Apple is, they don't have the authority to grant or act on search warrants. It was law enforcement that conducted the search via search warrant granted by the DA.
You are totally right- if the hands in the photo had any unique characteristics (scar, mole) that could be enough to track down the leak.

TheAndroid1 says:

It's fake, but THIS is what I would expect the next iphone to look like, this looks good.

Chris says:

That info is as fake as this picture, which was taken from a French dude's tweet and flipped horizontally.

Chris says:

Fake. No front facing camera.

Rodney Charles says:

The front facing Camera is clearly there...

johnnyray says:

I hope that's not the 5. maybe it's the rumored cheap nano 4.

DeLeon Hughes says:

REALLY FAKE! This pictures has already been debunked on

Icvos says:

better not be , i want that antenna BURIED DEEP!!!

Michael Giardinello says:

I agree with @Chris and @TheAndroid1. They're going to raise the price by a "little" bit? $399 is double the price that it is now --that's a 100% increase (definitely not a "little" increase.
Apple would never do that. They wouldn't increase the price of the iPhone at all. The only way they'd increase the price is if they came out with an "iPhone Pro," but I seriously doubt that, too. Apple either keeps the same price, or decreases the price.
