A quick heads up for Mailbox users that the latest update that has been pushed out to the App Store brings portrait support for the iPad. Strangely, when Mailbox finally gained iPad support, it was only useable in landscape view, but that has now been rectified.

OS X Mavericks, which was just announced at WWDC 2013 features some power management and CPU usage improvements that should result in smoother scrolling and better memory management across OS X in general, particularly Safari and Mail.

For those of us that have lots of emails to keep up on everyday, the default iPhone mail app can be somewhat lacking. There are other options in the App Store but it always seems to be give and take. Dispatch aims to close a good majority of that gap by providing functionality that makes you more productive. With support for snippets, multiple account types, extensive share sheets, and more, Dispatch may just give apps like Mailbox a run for its money.

The new look Gmail inbox started rolling out to the web interface last week, and today's update to the iOS app brings it to your iPhone and iPad. We're not treated to a visual upgrade too, but then, the iOS app has had the slide-out drawer interface for some time now.

Airmail for Mac is a new third party mail client that not only supports a plethora of account types, but is also one of the most visually appealing email apps for Mac I've ever used. For users who are still clutching onto Sparrow while waiting for a viable alternative, you may just find your solution in Airmail.

We've already heard from multiple sources that Apple's vice president of design, Jony Ive, has been working on making iOS flatter and more refined, but now he's also rumored to be working on brand new Mail and Calendar apps as well. It's not clear right now whether a complete revamp of such core personal information management software would be ready in time for iOS 7 this year, or for iOS 8 next year, but the focus sounds interesting. According to Bloomberg:

Mail Pilot has just received an update which adds the much requested support for Exchange accounts that are IMAP enabled. Popular email app Mailbox has annonced that they have gotten rid of their reservation system. In a post on the company blog, the team says that they are now delivering over 100 million messages per day:
