Game Center Terms of Service updated

Apple has recently changed the terms of service for their Game Center application and the main difference is that Game Center will now use your Apple ID instead of your gamer tag when making a friend request.

You will still be able to use a handle/username for Game Center, it just appears as if Apple wants us all to be more personable and authentic with each-other when becoming friends. What are your thoughts about users seeing your full name when requesting friends on Game Center? Does it increase accountability, reduce privacy, or both?

Rage HD for iPad- app review

YouTube Link

When I saw John Carmack show off Rage on the iPhone a few months back, I was rather excited. The promise of real console-like graphics were in our grasp. Then, the game finally came out and I was initially blown away, but then...

Rage HD on iPad is set in a post-apocalyptic future. Typical of these types of games where you play a contestant out to earn money by defeating mutants. The game is set in a first-person shooter (FPS) perspective, but it is on rails. This means the game "moves" for you and you are only allowed to maneuver the cursor on screen at any given time. This is okay, as the games visuals are amazing and this style of game worked really well for Doom Resurrection on iPhone.

Do you buy apps right away or wait for sales?

Do you buy apps right away or wait for sales?online surveys

With one of the biggest sales days of the year almost upon us I began to think about the iPhone and iPad App Store and whether low price points encouraged consistent buying or frequent sales trained shoppers to always wait for sales?

Do you always buy the latest, greatest apps and games the minute they come out, eager to get right into them and seldom phased by prices that are about the same as a latte or hamburger? Or do you think pretty much every app with drop in price after a few weeks or months, or have a seasonal sale, so why bother paying more?

Mighty Eagle coming to Angry Birds for iPhone, iPad

This December, in celebration of 1 year on the App Store, the TiPb Award winning Angry Birds will be releasing an update that includes the ability to in-app purchase Mighty Eagle as well as:

  • 15 new levels
  • New Shiny Golden Eggs
  • New Gameplay
  • New Achievements

Might Eagle will cost $0.99/£0.59/€0.79 and can then be used to skip through those levels that you just can't beat. However, you'll be restricted to using the Mighty Eagle only once per hour, requiring you to wait before you can use it again.

In addition, you'll also have the new option to freely smash up levels you have already completed with the 'regular birds', so you can try and fill up the destruction gauge.

Not only is this update going to be released in celebration of their one year anniversary, but you can also attend one of the 200+ meetup points worldwide for an Angry Birds Flash Mob. If there isn't a event happening in your area, you can set up an event and get people to join in the fun.

If you don't already have Angry Birds, you can buy it on the App Store for $0.99/£0.59.

Take a look at the "The Mighty Eagle" trailer after the break. Are you looking forward to the update? Will you be spending money on Mighty Eagle? Let us know in comments!
