Tylt PowerPlant portable battery pack with Lightning connector review

Wi-Fi. Cellular. Games. The more you use your iPhone, the more you're going to run down the battery. As advanced as the iPhone gets inside, there are still practical limits for the capacity of its internal batteries, and sometimes what comes with it simply isn't enough. That's where a device like Tylt's PowerPlant, a portable battery pack, can really make a difference.

iPhone 5s vs iPhone 5c vs iPhone 5: FaceTime HD selfie shootout!

Just when you thought the iPhone 5c would be internally, atomically the same as last year's iPhone 5, Apple went and gave it the same FaceTime HD camera boost as the new, flagship iPhone 5s. That means bigger pixels and a back illuminated sensor (BSI) that gets the wires out of the way and - your guessed it! - captured even more photons. The camera itself is still a relatively tame 1.2mp but that's enough - exactly - for 1080p video, and now at 1.9 microns (which is bigger in size, if far, far fewer in number than the rear iSight camera). Tech babble aside, what does that mean for your FaceTime video calls, and your selfies? Let's take a look.

iFixit tears apart new 16GB iPod touch, finds iPod parts inside

Those teardown fanatics at iFixit have been at it again, this time with the new 16GB iPod touch. Since the new one is virtually identical to the current 5th generation device, you wouldn't expect there to be much in the way of internal differences. And, you'd be right.

How's your battery life on iOS 6.1? [Poll]

How's your battery life with iOS 6.1?

iOS 6.1 has been out for a while now -- and iOS 6.1.1 just hit for the iPhone 4S -- so we're wondering how your battery life is doing? It seems every time Apple pushed out an update, some people get better battery life, others get worse battery life, and many just stay the same.

Part of this good be fresh starts with fresh versions cleaning out cruft that has built up for a while, or it could be bit-rot from old installs backed up and restored far too often. If your battery life is horrible, we have a bunch of really useful iOS 6 battery life fixes for you to try out. Either way, we want to know what you're experiencing!

Let us know how your battery life is doing, whether you set up as a new iPhone or iPad, whether you're jailbroken, and whether or not you have tons of push notifications going off all the time, or if you're running with almost none.
