Canadian service provider Rogers has struck up an exclusive agreement with multinational giant Vodafone for 4G roaming. Whether or not that means LTE or HSPA+ is anybody's guess. The deal will also connect Rogers to equipment providers that regularly work with Vodafone to help build out the Canadian network.

If you're in the UK with eyes on a new cellular iPad Air or iPad mini, the decision on which carrier to go with is more difficult than ever. The star of IFA 2013 may just be made out of Lego

This isn't a phone, or a tablet, or any other kind of device, but it is possibly the star of the show here in Berlin at IFA 2013. What it is, is an LTE tower constructed by the folks at Vodafone Germany, entirely made using Lego bricks. Who knows how long it actually took to put together, or how many Vodafone Germany employees were drafted in to put together this gargantuan structure, but it's impressive. Very, very impressive. So I couldn't leave the show without sharing it, though no amount of images could ever truly show how big this thing really is.

UK 4G LTE race heats up; Vodafone and O2 go live, Three announces their plans

Today, August 29, the UK finally sees competition in the 4G LTE race, as both Vodafone and O2 flip the switches. Initially, coverage is minimal with Vodafone only covering London to begin with, and O2 just London, Leeds and Bradford. Great news for anyone who uses those carriers in those cities, but bad news for anyone who wants to use it with an iPhone at the moment, as both are incompatible with the current iPhone 5. The one we've been waiting on is Three, and their plans are now out in the open.
