Apple's A9X processor is the beast powering the iPad Pro

Apple has annoucned the A9X, its new processor for powering the iPad Pro. It features twice the memory bandwidth of the A8X in the iPad Air 2, and is 1.8x faster than that processor as well. Apple says that it features "desktop-class" performance.

Additionally, the A9X features twice flash storage read/write speed of the A8X, as well as double the graphics. Apple claims that the chip is 80% faster than most portable PCs, with 90% faster graphics. It lets you edit three streams of 4K video at once in iMovie, and AutoCAD runs at up to 60 fps.
