John-Anthony Disotto is the Editor of iMore, helping you get the most from your Apple products and fixing things when your technology isn't behaving itself.
Based in Scotland, where he worked for Apple as a technician at the Genius Bar specializing in iOS and iPhone repairs, John-Anthony has used the Apple ecosystem for more than a decade and prides himself on his ability to close his Apple Watch activity rings.
He also leads iMore's work on AI in the newsroom, testing where the technology genuinely improves editorial work and where it doesn't. In practice that means building tools to handle the repetitive parts of the job, from monitoring sources to checking copy against the style guide, so more time goes to reporting, judgment, and the kind of expertise a machine can't fake. Every story on iMore is written, edited, and signed off by a person.
John-Anthony has previously worked in editorial at TechRadar and Tom's Guide. He is also an avid film geek, having written film reviews and received the Edinburgh International Film Festival Student Critics award in 2019.
When he steps outside the Apple ecosystem, John-Anthony loves to tinker with other technology, and enjoys playing around with game emulation and Linux on his Steam Deck.
