What you need to know
- Apple's new MacBook Pro models are expected to launch this fall.
- Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the launch will occur between September and November.
Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro models have been anticipated by consumers ever since the company announced the M1 processor back in 2020. Thankfully, it does not appear that those customers have much longer to wait.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claims that the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will be announced and launch between September and November of this year.
The announcement and launch date of the redesigned MacBook Pro have been speculated for a while now and plenty of people have predicted sooner launch dates. In the journalist's Power On newsletter, Gurman acknowledged that the laptops were actually supposed to launch sooner but were held up by production issues with the new mini-LED display.

Gurman's prediction lines up with earlier guesses from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo said that, despite the mini-LED issues, the new Macbook Pro models will enter mass production in the third quarter.
In his latest research note seen by iMore Kuo states "we reiterate our previous prediction that the newly-designed 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will be equipped with mini-LED displays that will enter mass production in 3Q21."
The new MacBook Pro is expected to feature a completely new design, a solid guess since Apple is known for redesigning its hardware after a new chip release like the M1 processor. In addition, the new laptops are expected to feature mini-LED displays, remove the Touch Bar in favor of the traditional function keys, and reintroduce a number of ports to the Macbook Pro for the first time in years.
