Hey , it's my 18th my dads 52nd and granddads birthday 80th on the same day soon and if I could get the chance to win at least one pair I would be over the moon and ironically I would give this pair to my granddad as he is 90:) and he is an old style guy who has loves apple through the years and I have got him into dr beats!:)

My two cents regarding Apple's acquisition of Beats Music. Selling computer devices make up 87% of Apple revenue, but iTunes made 4.5 billion just last quarter. However growth in iTunes is stagnating. I wondered too why Apple would be making a 3 billion bet with Beats, however I came to realize that Apple needs to allow the iTunes business to be run by those in the music business. The headphones are paned, but are popular with healthy margins. The streaming service is well regarded. The Beats management understand the music business better then a group of middle age white guys in Silicon Valley. Apple acquired NeXT allowing Steve Jobs to take the reins as CEO, and NeXTSTEP to be the foundation for the new Mac operations system. Beats Electronics can be acquired by iTunes allowing Iovine and Young (Dre) to take over direction, and Beats Music to be a new foundation.

I think Beats is both a string brand and string resources. The Beats brand sells headphones like hot cakes, 4 a minute every day. Though having Dre and Iovine join the team makes Apple all the better.

I'm more interested to see what Apple does with the Beats Music service. I'm a pretty big fan of iTunes Radio, but apparently that's not catching on the way the standalone services have. I'm thinking this acquisition has is more about Iovine than anything else. I'm thinking he can get more deals made like the one made with Beyonce when her new album was exclusive to iTunes. Amazon was all up in arms and refused to carry the new album. Jimmy will be brought in to ease the fears of other artists who Apple approaches with similar agreements, but are afraid of repercussions from Amazon and other retailers.

I'm actually pretty excited to see what happens with the Beats acquisition. I know a lot of tech people are puzzled and saying that the deal doesn't make sense. I just see so much plus to it and I don't even know half of what Apple must know. I've always liked the style of the headphones they were just a little too expensive for my tastes to spend on headphones. I like my music bass heavy too which is why my cars have always had 12" and up subs always. I guess I'm not an audiophile because I like the rumbling bass.

From what I see, beats are pretty nice headphones and I've always wanted to buy a pair for myself but I've noticed I've only gotten them as gifts for other people mainly the earbuds but those are pretty nice too. The earbuds that I've bought as gifts were really good for people who are rough with their belongings they were very durable and I was very impressed.

Beats by Dre + Apple has to be good for everyone. To Apple: Please throw out itunes radio and replace with the Beats App. that should be the first order of business. Then we can discuss headphones.
