A big disappointment using splashmoney with iphone, I have to still use my palm desktop version as my base/backup. Good thing I still that (palm) as iphone version crashes. It often does not sync and at times delete the accounts on the iphone. I have lost count with the number of reinstall and resync that I have done.

Need a software that works on the iphone and will allow syncing.

I'm upset that I bought Splash Money for the itouch and also shelled out for the desktop program so that I could back up my itouch.

My first syncs were okay, then they started being out by a penny or two on the desktop, then some transactions would sync - others wouldn't until eventually strange transactions from the year 2000 would show up on the desktop after a sync (not even sure where these were coming from seeing I've only had Splash Money for a few months and the computer for 3 years). No matter what I did, the syncs gave crazier and crazier results. I spent hours trying to correct and twice I ended up wiping out all information, removing the desktop program and reinstalling. Again the syncs started out ok, but eventually weren't even close to syncing correctly.

The itouch program worked fine for me - however, what is the point of having it if you can't back your data up. This was one my more expensive purchases for my itouch considering the itouch program was around $10 and the desktop program around $20 - what a waste of money. Plus - I emailed Splashmoney about my problem - never heard a thing back from them - so no support.

Brian,

Is there a better alternative to SplashData's/SplashMoney? One that will sync with iphone and desktop application? I use another app called "Wallet"(password mngt.) by Acrylic Software for iPhone and it works flawlessly.

Apparently, SplashData said they should be releasing an update in the next few weeks to address many issues. I would like to read a follow up on this application once they release that update. Thank you!

I got the same problem Ezravision. It's already discussed among the splash forum but nobody there knows what's going on and still no solution so far.

Maybe they just have enough money and decide to leave us alone

I can't launch splashmoney and I have an appointment with my tax guy in a few weeks. All of 2008 transactions painstakingly categorized are no longer accesible. Because I bought the desktop, and synch regularly, I can get my reports, but it bugs be that I now need to bring my laptop to my appointment instead of my iPhone alone. I have deleted the app from my iPhone and reinstalled it, and it crashes on launch after 1st synch. Stability is what I want. I now am looking for anything that works close to these features reliably or just waiting.

I currently prefer Ledger. It is rock solid and handles all my accounts perfectly. Syncing I do through Pageonce to see where accounts are at, then make all updates manually.

@J Lee - sorry you've had so much trouble with SplashMoney. At first I had some difficulty syncing, but I set up an ad-hoc wireless network connecting my iPhone directly to my Mac, and then it synced just fine. Occasionally there is a crash, but so far the good has far outweighed the bad for me. I particularly like being able to sync with my online banking accounts and get up-to-the-minute balance and account activity information. It's not perfect, but with a little work, SplashMoney is a good app.
