iPhone 5 case leak-a-palooza
According to M.I.C. Gadget, those iPhone 5 cases we caught a peak of earlier in the week are pretty much "everywhere" in China.
What we are hearing now is that the Chinese case makers are distributing their iPhone 5 cases.
Again, we won't know for certain what iPhone 5 looks like until Steve Jobs or another Apple exec holds it up on stage this fall, but these manufacturers certainly seem confident enough in their knowledge of Apple's iPhone 5 plans to risk their money on producing mass quantities of these Skittle-colored cases -- with the mute switch on the "wrong" side...

Obviously this is not for the Iphone 5. China has so many Iphone fakes, its probably for one of those. Why even post this? I like this site Rene but please please stop posting this crap....When you have a reliable source then we can get excited....

If the screen size is bigger it just better not be over 4 in. I think the iPhone right now is a great size, why does it need to be bigger anyways? Also why move the mute switch to the other side? I guess we will have to wait until september to be sure.
Since the demand is so high for large screen phones. Even some apple fans want a larger screen phone. Once you go large you can't go back. Sure the iPhone may have the "amazing retina display" but everything is smushed together where you can get more room on a larger screen phone.
To bring it in line with the switches and toggles on the iPad. Apple do like to have things the same.

Obviously if Apple want to sell i5 in this fall, definitely they must had started the manufacturing process in China. Of course this case makers will have enough contacts with insiders. Because it is China, not the USA. so may be this tapered design rumor might be true.

Wouldn't be the first time... or the second time that a case outed a new iProduct before Apple did. Same goes for the train pic from yesterday. I lost count how many times I see Apple employees on BART or Caltrain with a prototype.
Maybe they are for the iPod Touch. Thats what I thought was in the train picture too. I hope the new iPhone has a stellar new design and not just look like a skinny 3Gs...

they wont be enlarging the screen, then they'd have to recode all the apps to work correctly on a larger screen, and get a bigger battery. Steve wants to improve battery not make it worst.

I wish Apple would, just once, release a totally fake iPhone preview to the manufacturers. With strict instructions not to make any cases until after the official iPhone launch. They'll go ahead and knock out mass quantities, they won't fit the real iPhone, and they'll be forced to eat all those useless bogus cases.

For all those saying "at least 4" or fail" - please go get a Droid X or something. Apple will not introduce a third (iPhone/iPod touch as one, iPad as two) screen size/ resolution. The only way it would not fragment the apps would be to keep the resolution the same as the iPhone 4, which would make it not Retina Display. The chances of Apple doing this are next to zero.
Remember the KISS philosophy. Keep It Simple, Stupid. Adding this third resolution on generation later is not in the spirit of this, and we know Apple likes to keep things simple.

I'm not entirely convinced that these are for the iPhone, seems more like to be iPod touch cases. Regardless you have to ask why would apple choose to move the location of the mute button and I can only think of one reason.
If the mute button somehow doubled as a 'camera' button to launch/take pictures it would make perfect sense to relocate it on the same side as the camera lens. This would reduce the likelihood of a stray finger obscuring the picture as a simple example.
Correction: We caught a peek, not peak.
This blog would likely be taken a bit more seriously if it had a more stringent review process in place.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. Something is wrong. The picture must be inverted, I think. If you would place an iPhone in the case, the camera and silence button would be on the right side of the phone... Wtf? I don't think Apple would do that.
I loved all colored cases. It looks so gorgeous and trendy.
I highly doubt that these cases are for the iPhone 5. One of the featured improvements of iOS 5 is the camera. Not only that but the ability to use the Vol Up button to take pictures. Since there is not one... Highly suspect.
I also agree with the screen size staying the same or maybe getting slightly bigger. 4" might work but my big question is why? The screen currently has the best resolution of any smart phone on the market. Size does not always = resolution. Not to mention that with the current "bumber" design, you are able to set the phone down on it's back or front (for privacy).
