iPhone 4s coming in July / August, same form factor but with A5 chipset and SIM-less? [rumor]

Macotakara, a Japanese blog, are rumoring that Apple will release an "iPhone 4S" in July or August this year with the same form factor as the current iPhone 4, with a a completely new model, or "iPhone 5" not be launched until Spring 2012 (!). The main difference will be in the hardware inside the phone. They claim that the iPhone 4s will have an 8-megapixel camera, an Apple A5 chipset based on the ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, and will have a built-in SIM and thus not require the card.

Google Wallet brings NFC-powered payments to Android, will Apple do likewise?

Samsung demands to see iPhone 5, iPad 3

According to This is my Next, after a judge ruled that Apple's outside council gets to see unreleased Samsung phones, Samsung has fired back demanding to see Apple's presumably upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Of course, part of the judge's ruling was based on Samsung having shown off or given away pre-release devices to the media and developers, and Apple absolutely does not breathe word one about their products until Steve Jobs or another exec holds them up on stage.

iPhone 4S coming at WWDC? [rumor madness]

Electric Pig claims Apple PR has been inviting top UK journalists to WWDC next month and guesses it's... to have them there for an iPhone 4S launch. WWDC takes place June 6 through June 10 and this is where Apple is set release iOS 5.

A source tells us that Apple’s UK iPhone PR team is approaching journalists from major publications to fly out to the event in San Francisco next month. The obvious conclusion would be that Apple is announcing a new iPhone. Or rather, an updated model. The iPhone 4S is slated as a stop-gap before the appearance of a true, ‘&%!*, they’ve done it again!’ game-changer next year.

iPhone unlikely to go LTE before 2012? [No, really!]

Digitimes rumormongers that Apple expected to launch an 4G LTE powered "iPhone 4S" (sigh) this year (double sigh) but has had to push it back to 2012 due to problems with the Qualcomm chipsets.

Apple is likely to delay the launch of its LTE-enabled iPhones to 2012, said the sources, noting that the industry had also long been skeptical about the launch of LTE iPhones in 2011 as the implementation of LTE networks has not yet matured.
