iPhone 5 prototypes reportedly supporting NFC

Some digging around the hardware code dump of iPhone 5 prototypes has revealed that there's an NFC antenna somewhere inside. The near field communications controllers are directly connected to the power management unit according to the code, but as always, there's no saying if the feature will make it to a final release this fall.

PayPal looks to steal limelight from NFC with new PayPal inStore app

PayPal looks like it could steal the limelight away from NFC (Near Field Communication) payments in the UK with the release of its latest app. The new app which is called PayPal inStore allows UK shoppers to use their iPhone to pay for goods within certain stores. Chunghwa Telecom brings NFC to the iPhone (sort of)

Chunghwa Telecom, the single largest telecommunications company in Taiwan, will be bringing NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S by way of a clamp you can connect to each device.

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has announced the launch of a NFC (near field communication) back clamp of iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S to provide combined NFC-based EasyCard and MasterCard PayPass mobile services through cooperation with EasyCard Corporation, MasterCard and NXP Semiconductor.
