The next Thor movie is right around the corner, and Gameloft is continuing their trend of officially-licensed Marvel games. Thor: The Dark World for iOS promises to be a top-down hack-and-slash action, by the looks of the trailer they released today. Players will get to romp through Asgard, defend it against evil, zap stuff with lightning, and smash stuff with a hammer by the name of Mjolnir.
I've generally been pretty happy with what Gameloft's been doing with Marvel. They've been steering away from trying to emulate console experience, like they had with the last Batman and Spider-Man games, and going towards more classic mobile formats, like the endless runner in Iron Man. A dual-stick action game for Thor seems like a good fit for me, but what do you guys think?
Thor: The Dark World will be hitting iOS this November, so keep an eye out for it.
