If you own an iPhone 12 series handset, you have probably enjoyed taking advantage of the MagSafe charger and MagSafe accessories. To fully use the features, you'll need a MagSafe-compatible case. Of course, you can use a non-MagSafe case with Apple's MagSafe charger, but it won't have the same "grab," and the other accessories such as wallets and stands will probably not work if you use a non-MagSafe case.

Bearing more than a passing resemblance to Apple's Clear Case with MagSafe, the Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case is crystal clear and bears the same visible magnet circle for easy guidance to your MagSafe charger or another accessory.

The case feels solid, with a hard PC (polycarbonate) back and firm but flexible TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) edges. While it isn't super "grippy," it's not slippery either. The lip of the case comes well above the screen, even more so near the corners for extra protection. The back is thick enough to protect the camera module as well. Precision cut-outs allow full use of the speakers, Lightning port, and mute switch. The buttons over the Sleep/Wake and volume buttons work fine. Two small holes along the right edge allow you to attach a lanyard if you wish. The Mous branding is subtly embossed along the other edge.

Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case: Price and availability

You can buy the Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case in all three current sizes: iPhone 12/12 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The case itself is clear, but you can choose three different colors for the magnet circle and line on the back: Blue, Slate Gray, and Light Gray. I chose the Light Gray to go with my white iPhone 12 mini. You can find this case on Amazon in the two larger sizes, and all sizes on Mous' website. Mous cases have been iMore favorites for years; the company also makes quite a few other cases for other model iPhones. The price ranges from about $55 to $70, depending on which size you choose.

Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case: What's to like

I like that the Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case strikes a good balance between protection and bulk. I don't like bulky cases, but this one isn't too bulky for me. Yet it feels quite protective with its hard back, firm but flexible edges, and substantial lip that is thickest at the corners. I do like that it's clear. I thought long and hard about which color iPhone to get, and I want to see it even when it's in a case.

MagSafe-compatibility isn't an absolute must for me, but it is so nice to have as my collection of MagSafe accessories grown. The magnets work exactly as expected, and the circle on the back is flush with the back of the case. I like that the magnet design on the back comes in a few different colors. I change my case often, so I like how easy it is to get this case on and off. My iPhone is fully functional within the case — it doesn't get in the way at all.

Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case: What's not to like

I think the biggest issue anyone will have with this case is the price. It's hard to swallow a price tag even higher than the Apple case it's modeled after. It does feel like a more protective case than Apple's, and it comes in more magnet design colors.

Though the case is designed not to yellow or scratch over time, mine did come with a slight scratch. It's not glaringly obvious, but for the price, I'd expect a pristine case. Speaking of looks, not everyone is going to like the magnet circle and line design. It definitely took me some time to get used to, but it doesn't bother me now.

Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case: Competition

By now, there are many excellent MagSafe-compatible cases for the iPhone 12 series handsets. Apple's own Clear Case with MagSafe is the obvious comparison to this case. It's actually even cheaper than the Mous case. But the bottom of Apple's Clear Case with MagSafe is totally open, unlike the Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case, which has full bottom coverage. And many users report that the buttons on Apple's case are difficult to press; I had no such issues with the Mous case.

Some of my other MagSafe favorites include the elegant Oakywood Wooden MagSafe Case and the artsy, slim OtterBox Figura Case with MagSafe.

Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case: Should you buy it?

You should buy this if ...

  • You want MagSafe compatibility
  • You want a reliable, protective case that isn't too bulky
  • You want a clear case

You shouldn't buy this if...

  • It's out of your budget
  • You don't love the look
  • You'd rather buy the original Apple version

The Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case is a great choice for someone who wants a clear MagSafe-compatible case similar to the Apple Clear Case with MagSafe but perhaps just a bit more protective (with full coverage along the bottom of the phone.) If you like a slimmer case but don't want to sacrifice protection, this is a case worth looking at. If the price tag is just too much or the look isn't for you, you have plenty of other options out there.

It's tough to review this case without comparing it to the Apple case that was the obvious inspiration. Given that it costs more than the Apple case, it could be easily dismissed. But I'd encourage you to take a closer look. Though I haven't performed drop tests myself, the Mous case does appear to be a bit more protective with its full bottom coverage and the thicker lip around the delicate iPhone corners. Plus, I did not experience any issues with the Mous case's button covers, taking the case off and putting it on, or slipperiness, all common complaints about the Apple case.

This is a firmly protective but relatively slim case. The clear PC and TPU case lets the iPhone color shine through. You can get the magnet circle design in three different colors. Mous Infinity MagSafe Compatible iPhone Case works great with all of my MagSafe chargers and other accessories. My only problems with the case are the price and the minor scratch it came with.
