Not so exclusive: Google sends out a truckload of Inbox invites

Well, that didn't last all that long. It seems most people who requested an invite to the new Inbox app from Google are receiving notifications indicating that they're into the cool kids club. As the wave of invites rolled out, the @inboxbygmail Twitter account confirmed that they have "left the building" and to check back soon if you weren't in this wave.

If you haven't yet requested an invite but still want in, you can always shoot an email to — chances now are that you'll be getting an invite sooner than later.

  • I got one. So far it's buggy (no new mail sound for goodness sake..!), and the gestures are very un-iOS like. Not sure I'll be sticking with it. Plus it looks like an Android app, which perhaps isn't unexpected, but Google could have put a bit of effort into making it look more native.
  • It's not supposed to be iOS like. It's all part of Google's new cross platform design language. Posted via the iMore App for Android
  • When in Rome, do as the romans do. Or in this case, on the iphone, be iOS like.

  • Please stop typing your email's here(It really makes me sad that people openly type their email on websites for spammers to see). The only people who will see it that are interested are spammers. To get an invite send the email to: like the article says. Google will not see it here, only through the mail address that they have chosen for this.
  • I'd like to try it but it doesn't work with Google Apps yet so not really much point begging for an invite.
  • Yes make people beg... Great idea Google. Off Sent from the iMore App

  • I've not yet received one... Have the app installed on my iPhone just waiting for that handy-dandy email to show up.
  • Hi everyone- Quick question for those who have tried Inbox ... If I accept the invitation and activate it, does it do anything to my "normal" Gmail account? In other words, will everything on my normal Gmail account get organized and "grouped" like they will in Inbox? I am not certain I am going to like Inbox, so I don't want to try it if I can't revert back to the Gmail exactly as I'm currently using it. Thanks!!
