Against

The Nintendo Switch OLED is a beautiful upgrade from the original Switch with its vibrant and slightly larger display. However, since it's somewhat larger than the original Switch and the Switch V2, gamers need to make sure they get a Nintendo Switch OLED case that's big enough to fit it.
I recently had the chance to check out Tomtoc Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective Case, and I love it. It's the perfect choice for anyone who likes traveling light with its compact-yet-convenient design.
Tomtoc Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective case: Price and availability
Tomtoc's Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective cases can be found on Amazon and Walmart's websites. These beautiful cases are slightly larger than the original Switch design to accommodate the slightly larger build of the newer console. It's currently only available in two colors, but more will likely be added in as time goes on.
Tomtoc Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective case: What's good
There are a few things I always look for when evaluating a Nintendo Switch case, and Tomtoc's offering is one of the best you'll find. It has a hardshell case to protect your Switch from accidental bumps or drops. The textured design is classy and has different colors, so you can pick the look you like best. There's also a removable wrist strap to make it easier to tote your console around on the go. The zippers are made of plastic and open and shut very quickly.

But best of all, this case is extremely thin. This means that if you pack it into a backpack or bag, it won't take up much room, plus it's less likely for the system to get squished with that protective hard casing. In addition, there are slots for up to 10 gaming cartridges so that you can bring the best Nintendo Switch games with you. Finally, the backside of the cartridge flap is covered in a soft fabric to keep the OLED screen safe in transit.
Tomtoc Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective case: What's not good
Tomtoc designs its cases to be very minimal. As such, there isn't any storage space, which is usually included with many other Nintendo Switch cases. So, you won't be able to throw any earbuds, cables, or extra controllers in the case. If you need room for additional accessories, you probably want to look into a different case. But if you're the minimalist type, this is an excellent option for you.
Tomtoc Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective case: Competition
If you're looking for some fantastic Switch cases with Nintendo character designs on them, you should check out PowerA Nintendo Switch cases. There are designs for Mario, Animal Crossing, Pokémon, Zelda, and more. They're also large enough to fit the Switch OLED, and many come with a rubber carrying handle and zippered storage to keep your small accessories in.
Tomtoc Nintendo Switch OLED Slim Protective case: Should you buy it?
You should buy this if ...
- You want a super slim case
- You need a case for your Switch OLED
- You're looking for a minimal design
You shouldn't buy this if...
- You like to store small accessories in the case
- You don't like the available colors
- You want something with Nintendo characters on it
Tomtoc's Nintendo Switch OLED cases offer plenty of protection with their hard shells. They're designed to be ultra-slim, so they don't take up a lot of room when traveling on the go. You can easily slide them into another bag since they're so compact. As long as you don't need any storage space, they are a minimalist gamer's dream and an excellent option.
However, if you want to bring earbuds, a cleaning cloth, cables, or extra Joy-Cons with you, you'll want to consider a Switch OLED case that features ample storage for your needs.
