I wish Apple would get with it and add password protection to both the desktop and iPhone versions of Bento. There is no excuse for them not to have this feature on both platforms. These would be a great resources for storing personal information like this.

I'll agree with Andrew. I switched from Splash ID to 1Password. They are the same price, and the 1Password functionaloty is significantly better.

splash id was one of my favorites as a palm fan but very lack luster on the iPhone ports and reviews reflect that. i also switched to 1password for the automation and frequent updating.

DOESN'T WORK WELL... When you create a new record in your iPhone it doesn't sync correctly to the Desktop software, neither you can't see it, nor edit it in the computer!!! I have the last both versions (in my iphone and in my mac)... I complained several times about this problem but they didn't help me as I would wish......

I like this app, but the $20 desktop companion is the killer for me. Guess eWallet has the same, but it is $5 cheaper overall. I had Flexwallet on my WM devices and love having desktop sync. Gonna have to bite the bullet on either this or eWallet I guess.

@Icebike: Apple building PGP-style functionality into both Mail.app and MobileMail.app would be nifty :(

I see nothing here to distinguish it from any number of other Wallet apps.

The one cool feature was the ability to send information via Email. "You can also send the information as a secure file to another Splash ID account!"

But why re-invent the wheel here? Why not just use PGP encryption and send an encrypted email? What are the chances of your house guest having this particular APP?

Side rant:
Public key encryption is something desperately needed by the iPhone. Drives me nuts when people send me encrypted emails (because they contain credit card info) and I have to wait to see them till I am back at my desk. My friend receives encrypted legal briefs all the time from his team, and he has the same complaint.

You've got a typo in the title, "Spash ID" instead of "SplashID", other than that looks like a good app, I'll have to look into it :)
