One of Phil Schiller’s favorite iPhone apps, ESPN ScoreCenter, [iTunes Link] just got that much better with the addition of push notifications. Even better you get the ESPN SportsCenter jingle as your notification sound.

With ESPN ScoreCenter you get real-time scores, live game details, game summaries and stats for 9 major sports including the following: MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, Soccer, NCAA Football and Basketball, NASCAR, Golf, and Tennis.

The only major sport that I wish was included is MMA (mixed martial arts) coverage. That would make this app absolutely unreal. Life goes on and at the end of the day, with push notifications, this is the best sports app to get your up to the minute sports information and best yet, it’s free!

  2. Eric8199 says:

I can’t get push to work. Everything is turned on, but I’m not getting anything.

  3. Eric8199 says:

Nevermind. It’s working now. Wish they had junior league hockey, OHL. Could get rid of my text plan then. Haha.

  4. Al says:

It will be sweet watching the Colts go 16-0 and win the Superbowl on this app. For New England fans it can also help you watch your team underachieve. Go Colts!

  5. gquaglia says:

I have this. Love the new push feature.

  6. BLiNK says:

LOVE the ESPN tone when an update is received!

  7. Fassy says:

Sportacular still has more push options, and their push seems more reliable, as scorecenter seems to miss a lot of notifications. However, as a fantasy player, I like how scorecenter shows not just that a team scored, but who and how.

  8. ezmac says:

Can’t get it to work here in Thailand…. Install, Launch and then crash!!

  9. Joe McG says:

As if the Bears losing wasn’t bad enough, then you feature a push notification of Grants TD. . .

I’m a Detroit Lions fan. The app plays the sad trombone sound every time someone scores against the Lions. :(

  15. Wes907 says:

Seems like alerts only work for single games. I haven’t received any on an everyday basis.

  16. John says:

Hey we beat packs twice this year!! Yeah cowboys suck.

  17. mulletcutter says:

  19. sabr31 says:

I can’t get push to work either. Everything is turned on but they say I need to enable Apple Push Notifications in the main settings page… thought I did? Anyone know what’s up?

    • Jaimebarca says:

All you have to do is enable the sport you are following in “breaking news alerts” inside the “alert” tab on the main settings of the app… Then click “myTeams alerts” and turn the settings on… Thats it !!! Now you ve got push notifications, though not for any team…
