Continuing the long journey begun with iPhone 2.0, Apple has once again raised the bar on Enterprise support for iPhone 4.0 adding better data protection, mobile device management, wireless app distribution, multiple exchange accounts, Exchange Server 2010 support, and SSL VPN support.

More as this develops!

    Multiple exchange accounts sound nice.

  2. icebike says:

WTF? iPhone already has SSL and VPN capability.

  3. solar_plexus says:

did you just say "Raise THE Bar?" I would say "Raise the iPhone's bar" but not raise THE bar. Other platforms have already been there......unless I completely missed something.

  4. solar_plexus says:

I wonder what they mean, exactly by wireless app distribution....will they supplant iTunes with something else?

  5. Jd says:

    Multiple exchange...A+++++

    Free busy viewing in calendar??

  6. dman says:

Still no ability to view other people's calendars?

  7. exchange user says:

Exchange STILL doesn't carry reply/forward tags/flags over either, which is still a huge missing piece for Exchange support on iPhone. Anyone else feel the same way?

  8. Skippypgd says:

Yep - really need mail priority(sending and showing msgs sent with priority), reply tracking, set 'private' for calender entries - if they want to beat MS they need to play on their field!

  9. Josh says:

@icebike - the iPhone does support VPN, but not SSL VPN systems such as Juniper.

  10. Strongfist says:

Android does what the iPhone simply dosnt. All of you make big fusses about all of these things that you should of had years ago. Android listens to its users. Statistically you guys have a higher satisfaction rate but whats more satisfying then complaining and seeing results? Apple does things on its own time. Its time that you got fed up with your one phone, one carrier and one ruler. Who wants a draconing future?

Come to the Android side. We have freedom. I mean have you even seen Androids latest release? If you missed the google convention you can bring your self up to speed at http://www.getyourgadgetsgoing.com
