Engadget points out that Best Buy has just sent out a press release stating that they will be offering up iPhone 4 pre-sales starting tomorrow, June 15th. Of course you will have to take a ride to your local Best Buy location as the pre-ordering is not allowed on their website.

"Beginning June 15, Best Buy Mobile, the mobile specialty retail unit of Best Buy Co. Inc (NYSE: BBY), launches its pre-sale of iPhone 4 from Apple. Pre-sale orders can be placed at any Best Buy or Best Buy Mobile standalone store nationwide. The iPhone 4 will land in Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores June 24."

So now you have two choices for tomorrow if you are planning on pre-ordering. How many of our readers plan on visiting a Best Buy tomorrow?

Sound off in the comments below!

  1. Mitchell says:

Any news on uk prices and pay as go?

  2. ToeNo says:

Buying an iPhone from Best Buy on pre-order may be as bad an idea as buying an iPhone from AT&T pre-order.

  3. ChrisJ says:

remember man who was first to break ipad with baseball bat? who be first to break iphone with bat?

  4. d.allen says:

I'll be preordering from them tomorrow.. much easier for me then going to at@t.

  5. David says:

I perordered and bought my 3GS from Best Buy and I walked right in and was out in 10 minutes, No one was there.

  6. ToeJo says:

I assume you must pre-pay for the phone when you preorder it. Is this the same with Apple? And does it garauntee you'll have your phone on the first day of release? The problem with AT&T was that they took a zillion preorders and could never tell you when you would get your phone. A month, a week, a day...they never had any answer.

  7. jonar1us says:

thanks for the update I was jus finna call bestbuy

  8. ChrisJ says:

att say that you not billed until phone ship or you pick up. you give cc at preorder. they store your cc in their underwear drawer, yes? i don't know if this is safe. how they hide, what if kid breaks in and takes it and buys toys. he have many fun with new toys. iphone is boreing to kid - give him blocks and sticks and him play many days.

  9. James says:

AT&T and RadioShack are doing the pre-orders too apparently. So 4 sources for preorders (Apple, AT&T, Best Buy, Radio Shack). Walmart's the odd man out.

My take on this is that Apple's planning on having boatloads of iPhone 4's to satisfy demand. So sounds promising in terms of getting an iPhone 4 on release. We'll see.

  10. Ben says:

I will be preordering with Apple, I don't trust AT&T reps or any others beside Apple guys when it comes to upgrading my iPhone. AT&T reps will take off features before they upgrade you, then upgrade you and place those back on so they can get credit for the feature and get commission for it. People at Apple just sell you the phone and activate it in front of you and you walk out happy.

  11. Beefalo says:

Was thinking about Best Buy because of their warranty plan. Heard they'll replace dropped and/or wet phones, even. Anyone have experience with this?

  12. Ericg1840 says:

Yeah there protection plan is 14.99 a month but cover accidental, water damage and stuff. The send it out through geek squad and you get a phone in 3 days. No deposit or Anything

  13. CadillacE says:

I have T-mobile and will be preparing for the unlock. Will Apple or Best Buy allow me to preorder the iphone w/ the $200/$300 surcharge or will I just not be allowed to buy it. Someone let me know.

  14. Fresh1 says:

Does anyone know if you can place a preorder ( with any stores that will have iPhone 4 on launch day , and have them send it to your house ( on launch day)?? I heard that the apple store offered preorder launch day shipping (meaning they would be able to Fed ex you a Pre ordered iPhone 4 on june 24 ) you probaly won't get it from fedex until mon or tues though . Does anyone know if that is true ? Or if what I heard was just BS?

  15. Dan says:

Wonder if this means if you do best buy ship to store they will actually have them there reserved for you. I really dont feel like preordering with them only to find out that the 80 morons waiting in line for 8 hours took my preorder.

  16. David says:

I had to put down a $50 deposit when I bought my 3GS from Best Buy.

  17. eyemumforfun says:

Does anyone know if the on-line pre-ordering begins at midnight or sometime during the day? I am going to pre-order on Apple's site as soon as I can.

  18. James says:

Warranty, can't say on Best Buy, but usually water is not covered for those types of plans. Re. preorder delivery, I don't see anything saying Best Buy will do home delivery, but the AT&T preorder says they will.

CadillaC, I'd say your best bet is to get it from Apple. Not sure what will happen though. The plan activation is when you go into iTunes.

  19. Matt says:

Think I'm gonna stick with apple.com for my preorder. It is nice however that there are more choices for consumers in regards to getting the next generation of iPhone.

  20. Michael in Maine says:

Question: If you buy from any non-AT&T site (except for Apple, maybe) and you are making a legal upgrade of phone equipment from a fully satisfied existing AT&T contract, how will the "3rd party" sources know how much to charge for the new iPhone?

  21. Ryan says:

Won't be bothering to attempt a pre-order. Called the local Best Buy (Chicago) about 5 mins ago, and their Best Buy Mobile people said they won't be taking pre-orders. I explained I was looking at a Best Buy press release stating they would, and their attitude was "meh, whatever, not taking pre-orders". I'll just pre-order from Apple, not taking a chance with the dolts at Best Buy.

  22. Ben says:

Your just preordering, it assures you that you will have a phone on launch day so when you walk in they will have what you preordered. Once your in the store, no matter if its Apple or AT&T or where ever you go, the upgrade or new contract process takes place then. No one company will do upgrading as you preorder, that would a big mess up.

  23. Michael in Maine says:

Any word yet on what time Apple will begin taking pre-orders online? Will they open the flood gates at midnight tonight (PDT) or wait until later in the day tomorrow? (Wonder if AT&T will run at the same schedule?)

  24. leo from miami says:

can i give a down payment

  25. James says:

My understanding is if you get it shipped to you, you configure in iTunes and that's where you set up your plan.

Re. down payment, I doubt it. You're pre-ordering on your credit card (so it is an authorization) and the actual debit takes place when it is shipped/picked up.

  26. tsb3 says:

    Pre-orders will be available 6/15 9AM EDT

  27. Adam says:

My 3GS showed up at my front door on launch day last year. I pre-ordered it through AT&T's website. I will either pre-order on AT&T again, or on Apple's site. :)

  28. iphoneduke says:

    yessir pre-ordering from BB

  29. caspain says:

I purchased my 3G & 3GS from BestBuy and the best thing about getting it from them is you can put the cost of the phone toward BestBuy Reward Zone points so you end up getting about $15 back to use for store credit.

  30. che says:

oh yeah, I'm getting from them for sure.

  31. Cindy says:

Going to the Radioshack (Dallas) around the corner from my house to preorder tomorrow morning.

  32. Alex says:

I will be preordering from BB just because i can use my bestbuy cc and get 18 months no interest :)
