Oh hell no, I'm not camping out. I have one reserved and I want it, but not THAT bad. Ridiculous. If I can't get it tomorrow for some reason I'll just wait a month or two until they're in stock like I did with my 3G.

i go and pick it up my line number is 15, and i can get my activation done at 10:45 am.
I'm picking mine up tomorrow at 11:30 from Best Buy. I'm an old lady now and don't have the stamina to get up early and wait in line. LOL! BTW, off topic. Went to AT&T to talk about the new iphone that I am getting and how I need them to switch the numbers on my two lines. They said that they won't be getting the iphone until the 29th and sorry, but it made them look like a bunch of chuckleheads over this botched launch. ( I know that they are reps, but they still looked bad.)

Just something for everyone standing in line so early for Apple...if you have a reservation, you will be let in at 7am to pick up your reservation ONLY, if you ask for another line to be upgraded and have no other reservations you will be directed to the line outside for walk-ins. At 10am Apple will start selling to walk-ins out of the reserve.
AT&T phone auto attendant at corporate stores says that they are only filling preorders until June 29?????? So walk ups are a no go until next week?
@Bruce - that is Correct. Even Radio Shack will fill preorders tomorrow until they run out, and after they run out they will call the others who preordered and inform them that they will should get more in stock soon. Honestly Apple should have moved the launch date back to July where they know they could make everyone happy. At least people have gotten them for two days now and tomorrow too. Tomorrow should be fun at the Apple store I'm going to.
yeah...still waiting on a SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION from AT&T...never again will I trust them to pull through with anything. I wish I was in line so I could be closer than "processing" on the at&t "premier" order page. What a freaking joke.

We never order to ship. Just reserve. Launches are awesome. I highly recommend doing one at least once at an apple store!

Zo, help me out. WTF I'd the point of waiting in line at AT&T if you preordered, or at apple if you had a reservation????? And that whole second line if people are what, hoping apple held something back from preorder to sell tothem instead?? Tons of publicity for the launch, but they did a pretty damn good job of keeping the discussion of how it isn't really a launch for anyone that didn't preorder,

Outside the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in NJ, at the McDonalds side entrance. This mall and Apple did not organize this at all.... Two entrances will be opening up so there are two lines right now ugh.... about 25 people on this side already.

Am I the only person that iOS 4 when it comes to multitasking that their 3GS isn’t remembering saved states?! WTF?! This is happening for all my 3rd party apps including the ones 4.0 tested.
We organized one line over by the Lord and Taylors/Starbucks entrance and we made a list. There are like 45 people here.
@AnotherBrian - I am sure about the Apple store in my location. They said it was due to the fact that AT&T and Radio Shack will not be selling phones to walk in's. More Apple sales men there to focus on reservations will help get things moving faster.
It's 3:35am here and we have about 150 people in line now. There were almost 1000 reserveres at the the freehold apple store.

I can't believe I am going to wait in a line tomorrow. I pre-ordered my phone I could have had it delivered to my house but I was not sure if I would be around so I told the rep at AT&T delivery to the store would be fine. I had no idea that thier would be lines. I was never told by the rep. I have never bought something so popular. I have been charged so I am going to get it. I feel like such an ass. Waiting in a stupid line. A line for something I already paid for. Argh!!! I only started reading post because of the news.

In UK walked into local Vodafone store at 8.06 and 10 mins later all done with a 32gb iPhone 4.

i dont understand this people. why going to the apple store and run the chance of not getting and iphone today. why didnt pre-order. i pre-order my iphone and i didnt wait in line and i got it the day before it came out plus when i activated it was nice and fast. today all the people that is going to be activating there iphones is going to take them a long time cuz of all the people doing it at the same time

FAIL.. My local ATT Store said (to me by phone) that they open @ 7 for pickup of preorders. I went. Nope. PLUS, I found out that my phone wont even be there until later today. TOTAL FAIL AGAIN. :O Come on ATT. You suck.

Enjoy your waiting in line. I waited for the first iPhone years ago. Most thought I was crazy but it was actually a lot of fun, met some great people. While we were waiting (in a mall) someone not waiting yelled out "It's just a phone". There was a few seconds of silence, and them the whole line stated laughing. We all knew... "he just doesn't get it". So enjoy!

I'm in the reserve line at Chandler Fashion Center near Phoenix, AZ. Our line is about 60+ deep.
The walk in line is already out of the mall and wrapping around the corner. I would guesstimate it to easily over 200 to 300 people deep.

Just got mine in the Fair Oaks store in Fairfax, VA. I was there at 5:45 and when they brought us in the mall at 7 they started dividing us up between reservations(which I had) and walk-ins. Low and behold, I walked out at 8:30 with my brand new iPhone! So far no yellow screen or network bars dropping when holding the phone! It's almost done loading, then it'll be play time.

Portland, OR. Pioneer Place. Lines longer than that big ship in Spaceballs. Like that ship, this both "sucks" and "blows."
I got to the Keystone Apple Store (north side of Indianapolis) at 6:45 and was out the door by 9:30 with my new 32GB iPhone. The line was about 500 people long when I got there and was still 500 people long when I left (however obviously I got through the line).
I have to say once I got IN the Apple store the process only took around … 3 minutes. I had reserved my iPhone on the 15th – there were people there that had been there for 16 hours in the non-reservation line that were still there when I left (and nowhere near the front of their line).
There were about 300-500 at the Biltmore in Phoenix, az!
I sat at the Apple Store in Woodfield (Schaumburg, IL) all morning today. I was about 100 in line, and still, I got sent home with no iPhone. Plus my friends got kicked out of line by the security guard because they stepped two feet out of line.

That sucks - there were literally piles upon piles of boxes of iPhone 4's at the Apple store I went to - it looked to easily be over 2500 just guessing from looking at it.

I just got out of apple at fashion show mall. We were told not to line up before 6 but I and a bunch of others, showed up around midnight. I was 5th walk in. After waiting 7.5 hours, went in, easy process and sale. It was a very very long wait. But the phone is pretty awesome. How about not having to Type in phone numbers? All my contacts, texts, bookmarks, all synced over in less than 3 minutes. Definitely worth it. There was probably 500 or more there. Definitely glad I went Early.

I'm at the Apple store on University Drive in Fort Worth Texas and have been in line for 2 hours and was told it would be another 3 to 4 because AT&T's servers are very slow. AT&T = FAIL!!
