Ducati motorcycle commercial filmed with iPhone 4

The HD video featuring the Ducati Multistrada 1200 motorcycle was shot solely with a iPhone 4. The only trick that was used in post production was stabilization to give the appearance of using a professional camera. All of the very impressive footage was captured this past Sunday in the Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb. If you are not familiar with any Pike’s Peak events, they are simply races to the top of the mountain via some treacherous dirt road terrain.

Be sure to select the 720p option in the video when viewing from your desktop. Video after the break!

    Very impressive indeed

  2. killer says:

Wow this is very well done. Amazing it was shot on a cell phone.

  3. Fresh1 says:

    Dam that was sweet ..

  4. snakes2003g says:

    Can android do that?

  5. david says:

    android? what’s that?

  6. J1CA says:

    Wow!!!!android what what

  7. Mo says:

Depending on what android phone you choose but the droid x and evo are more than capable of doing that

  8. Mr79 says:

Ok, I want an OWLE Bubo now!!! That looks so awesome!

  9. snakes2003g says:

Droid x may be able to do it but probably not with the quality iPhone 4 did there.

  10. WyldKard says:

FYI, the roads in the Pikes Peak climb are primarily paved – they’re not “dirt roads,” The multistrada is capable of minimal non-street riding, but isn’t a true dual-sport like the BMW GS series or KTMs.

  11. unchew says:

Really awesome vid i love the iphone4 and don’t feel the need to stir iphone vs android stuff i read it too much as is. Currently evo is under 720p video quality and camera seems a little slower at white balance and auto exposure but is a very capable phone. the motorola droid x is supposed to take 720p video only time will tell what actually camera they chose though. i love the owle bubo’s but didnt want to get one with my 3gs prolly will with the iphone 4 though.

  12. Josel says:

Mr Jobs, 60 fps on next iOS4 update, please?

  13. Ifonechip says:

Android is that a pay as you go phone lol. Good job on this video with the iPhone .

  14. Jason D says:

Next year I’d like to see them shoot AND edit it on the iPhone. ;)

    Great stuff guys!

  16. Andy says:

All very cool, but why does it look like s**t when I click and play the link on my iPhone 4! Doesn’t QuickTime support HD playback or what’s up?

  17. Dionte says:

That was really nice, now I really can’t wait to get one, too bad it took 8 phone to film, that 64 gig model would have really come in handy with the new hd feature

  18. George Costanza says:

Nice video. Dull, dull, dull, story.

  19. Baustin says:

    @ Andy

I think it’s linked through You Tube and if your on the cellular network it will look horrible. But if you’re on wi-fi you’ll get a nicer looking video.

  20. BillyB says:

iMovie. Facetime. All the cool stuff app developers are bound to do with the new hardware and iOS4. I can’t wait until July 14th when I finally get mine. The iphone 4 is going to be a blast for me.

  21. Ken says:

I dont think the whole vid was taken with an iphone. You can see a reflection of the person taking the vid at 7 sec mark…. Sure doesn’t look like he is holding an iPhone.

  22. Wes says:

    @ KEN

That’s because, as the youtube description says, it is in one of these —> http://www.wantowle.com

  23. Jared says:

Wes is right. It’s a stabilization lens on the iPhone 4. Pretty neat if you ask me.

  24. Redshirt says:

How did they do the zoom in the video?

  25. analog spirit says:

I have to say, not bad for a cell phone camera. Not bad at all. That stabilization lens helps a lot, too. Now I really want to get one of those things. Does anyone know if OWLE makes them for other types of phones, or are they currently only making them for the iPhone? Nice bikes, and nice video…

  26. granfio says:

  27. Daniel says:
