Leaked document reveals DiCaprio's importance as Steve Jobs to Sony

Leaked documents from the Sony Pictures hack reveal why the studio had pulled out from producing the Steve Jobs biopic based on Walter Isaacson's biography. According to the leak of Sony's internal forecast of the film, the studio projected that revenue for the movie would drop by as much as 25 percent after Leonardo DiCaprio, originally cast for the role of Jobs, pulled out. The movie is said to still be on track under Universal after Sony withdrew.

Natalie Portman reportedly passes on Steve Jobs biopic

It is now being reported that actress Natalie Portman will not be playing the female lead in the Steve Jobs biopic. The movie, based on Walter Isaacson's biography of the late Apple co-founder, is said to still be on track for its spring production date. Reasons were not disclosed as to why Portman had passed on the role and Universal has not issued any statement on her replacement.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Danny Boyle latest star and director rumored for Aaron Sorkin Steve Jobs movie

With Christian Bale and David Fincher off the rumor mill for the Aaron Sorkin-penned Steve Jobs movie room has opened up for Leonardo DiCaprio and Danny Boyle. Sorkin and Fincher had previously worked together for Social Network and although there doesn't seem to be any Sorkin/Boyle connection, DiCaprio and Boyle previously worked together on The Beach (I don't remember it either).

Christian Bale, the man who brought Batman to live for Christopher Nolan and Patrick Bateman for American Psycho is now rumored to be director by David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network)'s top choice to play Steve Jobs in the Sony biopic being written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network). Fincher, however, hasn't signed on to Direct the Steve Jobs movie yet, so how much this matters, if at all, is unclear.
