Verizon iPhone 4 available for pre-order tomorrow

I am still not sure what the fastest way to get one. If I pre-order tonight, will I get it delivered later in the day on the 10th? Then why don't I get one at 7AM on the 10th? What is the benefit of ordering tonight if non-customers have the ability to get their hands on one before me? Other than availability, I don't see the advantage to ordering tonight. Thoughts?

the benefit is you are guaranteed to get one on the 10th if you dont preorder you arent guaranteed one if they run out in store. I mean its whether or not you want to risk getting one on the 10th or chance it going in store

A Verizon rep just confirmed that if you pre-order on their site tonight, you will get the device on the 9th. Apple's website is also announcing that if you order on their website tonight, you will get the device on or BEFORE the 10th for free. So it sounds like pre-ordering is the best bet.

Hum... now to pre-order (for shipping) tonight, and be delivered sometime next week, in which I will be gone and hopefully have shipped to my mom's work, so I can pick up there Saturday (12th) night or Sunday. -OR- Pre-order on Apple's website the 9th, while in Las Vegas, to pick up in store the 10th. I sure don't want to wait in line for MAX 2 hours, especially if they open at 7AM.
??? Decisions, decisions...

Is this EST or PST? If 3AM EST... finally, us PST folks catch a break and do not have to wait up too late to order.
