Can you replace the battery on the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom?

Best Answer: While it's technically possible to replace the battery yourself, doing so requires pulling apart the electronics and even soldering parts together, which would void your warranty. We highly advise against doing this yourself. Instead, we recommend taking other actions if you need a battery replacement for your Ultimate Ears Wonderboom speaker.Amazon: Ultimate Ears Wonderboom Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker (opens in new tab) ($50)

What's the best way to go about getting a replacement for a manufacturing defect?

While it's nice to live in a perfect world with no issues at all with the things we buy, that's simply not the case. The Wonderboom is a fantastic Bluetooth speaker for the price, but defects do exist.

If you just recently bought a Wonderboom and it's experiencing much shorter battery life than expected (normally it should last for more than 10 hours), or if it's not charging at all, then a replacement is needed.

The best way to get a replacement is to contact Ultimate Ears itself. You can find their customer service phone numbers or shoot an email over to their team from its Contact Support page (opens in new tab).

If you purchased your Wonderboom from a retailer such as Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, or another third-party retailer, then you could try getting in touch with their respective customer service departments to see if you can exchange it for another unit.

My unit is pretty old. Should I just pick up a new Wonderboom?

If you picked up a Wonderboom when they first came out and have used it daily, then it may just be time to get a new one. After all, rechargeable batteries for anything only last for so many charges before it's time to replace them.

Since we don't recommend replacing the battery yourself (doing so voids your warranty and unless you're some kind of expert on repairing small electronics, it's risky), you may want to look into purchasing another Wonderboom.

After all, the Wonderboom has pretty great sound quality for the price, thanks to the 360-degree speaker shape. It's also IPX7 waterproof, you can pair it with other Wonderboom speakers, and it should last over 10 hours on a single charge. Plus, there are a ton of color options to choose from, so you can find a Wonderboom that matches your style.
